Chicks dig the long ball, and bettors love home run props. Here are two home run props to play today, April 18, across all MLB action.
“That ball wouldn’t have been out in a lot of parks.”
“Name one.”
“Yellowstone”
-“Major League”
If you read my article last week, you’re rich – we went 2-1 on HR bets, 4-2 overall, and we’re up 2.4u. Brandon Marsh and Bobby Witt took care of us (twice!). Marcus Semien is dead to me.
So, with that said, here are two guys I’m targeting today to hit balls to the moon (and a backup prop to accompany them). Today’s pickings are slim, but we’re going to try to find something.

Two Players Hitting Bombs Today: Home Run Props for April 18, 2024
2024 Record:
4-2 Overall (2-1 on HRs)
+2.4 units
Luis Rengifo (Los Angeles Angels)
Full disclosure: We originally wanted Logan O’Hoppe here, but he’s not in the lineup. So, of course, we’ll go with a soft-hitting second baseman.
Rays pitcher Ryan Pepiot is worse against lefties than righties, and Rengifo’s average, hard-hit rate, and BABIP all go up against righties. Rengifo switch hits, too, so there’s no danger of losing him mid-game.
Is he a power hitter? No, I’m not going to lie and say that. But he’s had hits in 17 of his last 20 games against RHPs dating back to last season and singles in 15 of those 20 games. So rather than lean into the BOOM, let’s lean into the basics and grab him to get a single at +105. He’s had one in seven of 12 games against RHPs this season.

Of course, since this is a Home Run article, we’re going to sprinkle on that prop. He hasn’t had any home runs yet this year, but he had 16 last year, so he’s absolutely due.

HR +750 FanDuel (.1u risk)
LaMonte Wade Jr (San Francisco Giants)
Be honest – you have no idea who is on the Giants. Seriously. No, Barry Bonds isn’t still on the team. Neither is Buster Posey. But LaMonte Wade Jr is – and he’s awesome.
Wade is batting .372 vs. RHPs this season, and he’s even nastier in the stadium by McCovey Cove – .429 vs. RHP with a wRC+ of 202. He’s hit safely in 13 of 19 games this season and 10 of 15 vs. RHP (shown in the graphic below via Outlier.Bet)
Now look, there’s some caution here—he doesn’t play the entire game. It’s weird. He only averaged 2.8 plate appearances this year. I’m not completely sure why, but he’s not making it through a full game.
With D-backs pitcher Ryne Nelson carrying a 5.40 ERA on the road and horrific splits against LHBs (they’re hitting .333, and both the HRs he’s given up this year have been on the road to lefties) – it’s worth the risk. This is a great matchup for Wade.
We’re going to grab his total bases prop at 1.5 and a gaudy +145 (so bet to MAKE 1U, not risk—unless you’re a psycho with your bankroll). And, of course, his HR is at +625 as he will probably launch one into the water (which is freezing, by the way. I went in once after a game when I lived there, and it was a dumb thing to do, but I digress…).
LaMonte Wade Jr o1.5 Total Bases +150 FanDuel (.7u to win 1u)
HR +625 BetMGM (.10u risk)
