Well, degens. Wednesday night treated our Insured option tailers well, as The Quick Pick notched another two-for-three night. That brings the profit totals up to 5.18x for Standard players and 2.32x for Insured option players this week. Sadly, Thursday night is the finale of the NHL regular season.
But we have a solid six-pack of games to sift through and build one more regular-season banger. And don’t fret—we’ll be bringing the Playoff NHL Underdog entries in hotter than those magazines you hid in your closet growing up. So, for one final time this regular season, here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for April 18.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for April 18
Nazem Kadri Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Calgary Flames are playing only for pride in their last game of this season tonight. Nazem Kadri and his squad will travel to San Jose to take on the league’s worst team. But never underestimate the power of a player wanting to pad his own stats in a meaningless game.
Kadri has 29 goals and 46 assists this season and he surely will want to add to the tally tonight. He also comes into this game on a three-game point streak. In a game that means so little in the grand scheme of things, let’s take the veteran looking to make his stats look pretty. Our first NHL Underdog entry tonight will be Nazem Kadri Higher Than 0.5 Points.
Tomas Hertl Higher Than 0.5 Points
The VGK have plenty to play for in their last game of the regular season. With a win, they’ll be headed off to Edmonton for a playoff series date with the Oilers. With a loss, it’s possible that the VGK could tango with a very strong Dallas Stars team. Their opponent tonight is the Anaheim Ducks, and we’re honing in on Tomas Hertl.
Acquired via a trade, Hertl has been rather productive for the VGK. He is carrying a three game point streak into tonight’s contest and has a long history facing these Ducks from his time in San Jose.
With our second NHL Underdog entry, we’re riding a hot-handed veteran with plenty of intel on his opponent. So go ahead and take Tomas Hertl Higher Than 0.5 Points against the Ducks.
Frank Vatrano Higher Than 0.5 Points
Ah, yes. Loyal readers and tailers will remember our love affair with Frank Vatrano in the early and mid-parts of this season. But that’s exactly what you do when a guy gets hot. You ride him to victory like Secretariat. In his season finale, Vatrano will be facing the VGK and looking to play spoiler.
He comes into the contest with four points in his last four games. He has tallied one goal and two assists in three games against Vegas this season. Spoiler alert: let’s take Frank Vatrano Higher Than 0.5 Points and cash this last regular season banger!
