Two-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft – Cody Zeeb Version 2.0

Two-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft - Cody Zeeb Version 2.0

The 2024 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away. We’ll soon have all the answers to who our favorite teams will select and who will be the potential futures of teams will be answered, and the fate of teams will change. The Houston Texans of last season are the perfect example. They did some moving and shaking, nailed their picks, and went from the second-worst team in the league to the NFL Playoffs. Let’s dive into my Two-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

Two-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft – Cody Zeeb Version 2.0

Some picks are pretty obvious. We all know Caleb Williams to Chicago is all but a done deal. That puts the Washington Commanders on the clock. In mock 1.0, I gave them JJ McCarthy due to his fast rise up the board at the time. It’s not out of the question that McCarthy goes in the top five with someone trading up for him.

In 1.0 I also had the Patriots taking Marvin Harrison Jr, which I don’t think is off the board. Imagine Tom Brady returning to the Patriots with Marvin Harrison to throw to. As a Patriots fan myself, it’s a dream I’ve had once or twice. The Patriots could very well shop this pick to a super-hungry quarterback team and take another guy a little later, rolling with a Jacoby Brissett Week 1.

This mock has no trades, but we’ll likely see plenty leading up to or on Draft Day. I don’t know that McCarthy falls all the way to the Vikings, where they sit currently, but we saw Mac Jones fall to the Patriots at 15 a few years ago when he was projected to go at number three.

Round 1

Eight teams grab a wide receiver in the first round, as there is plenty of talent to be had at the position. Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, and Justin Herbert all get their new pass catchers. Aaron Rodgers also gets a new toy in the clear-cut number one tight end Brock Bowers.

Only four quarterbacks go, with Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr dropping to the second round. Again, in the 2024 NFL Draft, it would not surprise me to see a team trade up late into the first round to grab that extra year of contract control on one of these guys, as we saw with the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson a few years ago.

Eight offensive tackles go off the board in round one of this 2024 NFL Mock Draft. It’s a heavy (no pun intended) load of talent at tackle this season, and we all know how important protecting that quarterback can be. 22 players in round one play on the offensive side of the ball, with the first defensive player not going off the board until pick eight and the Atlanta Falcons.

Bears
via CAR
Caleb Williams.QBUSC
Williams to the Bears is all but done. They've surrounded him with talent, now it's up to him to get the job done.
2

Commanders
Jayden DanielsQBLSU
Jayden Daniels seems to be the consensus number two pick as the draft approaches, but don't be shocked if the Commanders end up taking someone like McCarthy.
3

Patriots
Drake MayeQBUNC
Maybe it's just as simple as take the best of the three quarterbacks left on the board here for the Patriots. They may have the easier spot in the draft. I wouldn't be shocked to see New England trade this pick for a haul to stock up on some major needs.
4

Cardinals
Marvin Harrison JrWROhio State
I was wrong. The Cardinals have the easiest spot in the draft if Harrison Jr is still on the board. They should have this draft card filled out and faxed to league already.
5

Chargers
Malik NabersWRLSU
Jim Harbaugh could definitely go offensive line here with a guy like Joe Alt, but losing both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this off-season, the Chargers need to get Justin Herbert a new weapon. Nabers is a great slot receiving option and had 89 receptions for 1,569 yards with 14 touchdowns last season for LSU.
6

Giants
Rome OndunzeWRWashington
This is definitely a spot to watch for a quarterback to go off the board if a guy the Giants like is still around. However, they've not had a reliable number one wide receiver in some time. Whether it's Daniel Jones or someone else let's set them up for success with a potential superstar in Odunze.
7

Titans
Joe AltOTNotre Dame
Brain Callahan is in at head coach for the Titans and brings one of the greatest offensive line coaches in history with him in his dad Bill Callahan. This is a perfect match, and maybe Will Levis will have some time to throw the ball this season.
8

Falcons
Dallas TurnerEDGEAlabama
The Falcons addressed their biggest need already by signing quarterback Kirk Cousins, making them an almost instant division contender. Now it’s time to address the defense. Turner had 22 sacks in college and should make an immediate impact for the Falcons.
9

Bears
via CAR
Jared VerseEDGEFSU
The Bears were 30th in pressure rate and logged 30 sacks (31st) last season.
10

Jets
Brock Bowers TEGeorgia
Aaron Rodgers finally gets his wish after all these years, a shiny new toy to play with in the first round. Bowers should make an immediate impact for the Jets if Rodgers season can last more than four snaps.
11

Vikings
JJ McCarthyQBMichigan
Kirk Cousins left for the Falcons and now the Vikings need to find the next guy to lead the franchise. With a star like Justin Jefferson, there’s no time to waste. The Vikings may need to trade up to make this happen, but if McCarthy is around, I think he's the next starter for Minnesota.
12

Broncos
Quinyon MitchellCBToledo
The Broncos are a team who could go quarterback no doubt. You'll have to trade up, or back, unless you want to take a guy like Bo Nix here at 12. They need a lot more help than quarterback, so here we're going to address the defensive backfield and look to get a quarterback later on.
13

Raiders
JC LathamOTAlabama
Another team that could be interested in quarterback, but reports say they aren't. Head coach Antonio Pierce seems bought in on Gardner Minshew and wants to build a strong tough team. Latham can help protect Minshew as they do just that.
14

Saints
Taliese FuagaOTOregon State
Fuaga allowed just one sack the last two seasons, and can quickly fill a need as a protector for Derek Carr.
15

Colts
Cooper DeJeanCB/SIowa
DeJean has been flying up my board the more I've watched of him. He suffered a broken leg in November, but that doesn't seem to be causing an issues. He's a corner who can also play safety. For the Colts, DB is their biggest need.
16

Seahawks
Olu FashanuOTPenn State
Graham Barton the G/C could be an option here as the Seahawks need help on the inside. With Fashanu still on the board he's too good to pass up here. He allowed just one sack in over 650 career pass blocking plays in college.
17

Jaguars
Brian Thomas JrWRLSU
Calvin Ridley has moved on and we've got a generational talent at quarterback. Thomas could be a number one wide receiver for Trevor Lawrence. In 2023 Thomas caught 17 touchdowns leading the nation. He ran a quick 4.33 at the combine as well in the 40-yard dash.
18

Bengals
Xavier WorthyWRTexas
Worthy trades out one shade of orange for another, with uncertainty around Tee Higgins, I think he could be moved on draft day. Bengals replace him with the fastest player in the history of the NFL Combine's 40-yard dash.
19

Rams
Laiatu LatuOLBUCLA
Wity Aaron Donald retiring, DT could be an option here but there's plenty to select from in the second round. The Rams need some lash rushing help and Latu can provide that.
20

Steelers
Terrion ArnoldCBAlabama
Corner isn't the Steelers biggest need, but if Arnold, who is projected as high as a top 10 pick slips this far, he can help shore up the back end of the Steelers defense.
21

Dolphins
Troy FautanaGWashington
Interior offensive line is arguably the biggest need for the Dolphins. Isiah Wynn re-signed which helps them on the left side, but with big questions on the right side let's shore up this line and give Tua more time to operate this potent offense.
22

Eagles
Nate WigginsCBClemson
The Eagles are in win now mode and could use a defensive back who can make an immediate impact. The Eagles were 30th in points allowed in 2023. Darius Slay is 33, James Bradberry is 30. Let's infuse that defensive backfield with some youth.
23

Vikings
via HOU via CLV
Graham BartonC/GDuke
The Vikings already added their quarterback of the future at pick 11 with JJ McCarthy. Now let’s protect him and give him time to throw to All-Pro Justin Jefferson. The Vikings could use some interior help, Barton played all over the line in college so he can be moved around wherever the team needs help.
24

Cowboys
Tyler GuytonOTTexas
At 6-7 322 pounds, Guyton is the perfect answer to the Dallas Cowboys big need at offensive tackle.
25

Packers
Amarius MimsOTOklahoma
In a great offensive tackle class, this is a chance for the Packers to snag a guy who could be blocking for Jordan Love for years. For as big as he is, Mims has impressive explosiveness out of his stance and the ability to get downfield quickly.
26

Buccaneers
Chop RobinsonEDPenn State
The Buccaneers could use an edge rusher and Chop Robinson is a player with a lot of potential. There are a lot of questions around Chop and his numbers in college didn’t match what he should be able to do. He’s a risky first round pick, but one that could pay massive dividends.
27

Cardinalsvia HST
Byron Murphy IIDTTexas
After getting Harrison Jr at the top of the board the Cardinals need to focus on the defense that wasn't great last season. Robinson is a strong fit as the centerpiece of this line.
28

Bills
Adoni MitchellWRTexas
Back to back Longhorns off the board here. With Stefon Diggs moving on to Houston, it's time to get Josh Allen a new weapon.
29

Lions
Roger Rosengarten.OTWashington
The Lions already have Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell as a great starting Tackle combination. Don't forget that the draft is also about building depth and looking at the future, Rosengarten would be a great depth piece, with the potential to take over for Decker who is in a contract year.
30

Ravens
Jordan MorganOTArizona
You’ve got Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry on this team, and a lot of question marks in the offensive line. Reports say Lamar has been helping scout the Tackles for this first pick, welcome to Baltimore Morgan.
31

49ers
Xavier LegetteWRSouth Carolina
Like the Bengals, this could be a spot where we see another big wide receiver trade take place. Rumors of Brandon Aiyuk leaving town are still circling, Legette could provide a solid replacemt for a potent offense moving forward.
32

Chiefs
Keon ColemanWRFSU
What do you get for the kid who has it all? Another fun toy to play with anyways. The Chiefs will be lucky if Thomas falls to the, here at the end of the first round, but if he’s here he’ll be a great addition. Travis Kelce returns, Rashee Rice is back and Hollywood Brown signed a one year deal. Coleman adds a 6 foot 4 inch wide receiver with good game speed. A great addition for the Super Bowl champions.

Round 2

The second round sees the Panthers, Texans, and Browns make their first selections in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants decided in the first round to hold with current quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Daniel Jones. In the second round, they’ll snag competition for, and maybe future replacements for, the leaders of the franchise.

33

Panthers
via SF
Kool-Aid McKinstryCBAlabama
The Panthers have no first round pick this year despite being the worst team in the league, after trading that pick for Bryce Young. Jury is out, but early returns don’t look good. They have a lot of needs, so trading down from this pick might be their best option. If they stay here, and McKinstry is stil on the board, he'd be a good fit for their backfield.
34

Patriots
Ricky PearsallWRFlorida
The Patriots got their quarterback in the first round, let's get him a weapon right away.
35

Cardinals
Jackson Powers-JohnsonC/GIllinois
The Cardinals are sitting nice and plush with early picks in this 2024 NFL Draft. They’ve addressed wide receiver and defensive tackle. Next up the offensive line.
36

Commanders
Patrick PaulOTHoston
The Commanders got their man in Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick, now let’s protect him. The Commanders need an overhaul at tackle, especially with a young quarterback coming in.
37

Chargers
Blake CorumRBMichigan
The Chargers went receiver in round one. Corum here would be a pretty big reach, but Jim Harbaugh seems like the type of guy willing to spend the night, or um pick his guy higher than he should.
38

Titans
Ladd McConkeyWRGeorgia
They got their OT in round one ahead of the huge OT rush. Now they'll get a wide receiver for another target for Levis. Ridley is in town and Hopkins is aging. Lots of questions still around Burks, so let's add to the room.
39

Panthers
via SF
Darius RobinsonDTMissouri
Luckily for the Panthers they have picks in quick succession here early in the second round. It’s time to invest in the defensive line. Robinson is strong and physical defensive lineman.
40

Commandersvia CHI
TJ TampaCBIowa State
They’ve already gone quarterback and offensive tackle, now they turn to defense. Tampa is a guy who has slipped down my board a little, but could provide big upside.
41

Packersvia NYJ
Edgerrin CooperLBTexas
Linebacker is one of the Packers bigger needs. Cooper should be able to provide immediate impact.
42

Texans
Jer'Zhan NewtonDTIllinois
The Houston Texans are finally on the clock. After picking CJ Stroud number two overall last season, they traded up to pick number three and snagged Will Anderson, both moves appeared brilliant as the Texans made the playoffs in 2023. It was worth the wait to pick here at 42 for those two players. The Texans address defensive line here.
43

Falcons
Max MeltonCBRutgers
Atlanta gave up 6.8 yards per pass attempt (9th) in 2023. A.J. Terrell is back, now let's get him a new running mate to shore up that back end.
44

Raiders
Bo Nix.QBOregon
The Raiders passed up on quarterback in round one and their patience has been rewarded. With Gardner Minshew in town the Raiders don’t need a day one starter. Minshew is a strong bridge quarterback to start for the Raiders while Nix learns behind him.
45

Saints
via DEN
Troy FranklinWROregon
The Saints need another weapon to go along with Chris Olave, Franklin is a speedy receiver with great route running ability.
46

Colts
Malachi CorleyWRWestern Kentucky
Anthony Richardson will be back from his injury. Michael Pittman re-signed and Josh Downs showed promise. The colts strengthen that room here.
47

Giantsvia SEA
Michael Penix Jr+QBWashington
They got the stud wide receiver in the first, now they address quarterback. Penix will give Daniel Jones some competition, and could serve as the future starter if Jones doesn't work out.
48

Jaguars
Adisa IssacDEPenn State
Josh Allen just signed a monster deal, time to add a running mate to rush the passer across from him.
49

Bengals
Kris JenkinsDTMichigan
The Bengals allowed 4.6 yards per carry to the running back last year and then D.J. reader departed in free agency. The Bengals need help up front
50

Eagles
via NO
Roman WilsonWRMichigan
Wilson is the perfect fit for the Eagles. We all know about AJ Brown and Devonte Smith, but what the Eagles need is a slot wide receiver to work underneath. Welcome to the team Roman Wilson. Wilson is great in the short game and will compliment Brown and Smith perfectly.
51

Steelers
Jalen McMillianWRWashington
If the Steelers know how to pick a position in the draft, it’s wide receiver . Dionte Johnson has moved on to Carolina, and George Pickens remains on the team. The Steelers take another second round receiver with high hopes.
52

Rams
Ruke OrhororoDT/b>Duke
Nobody can truly replace the retiring Aaron Donald, one of the greatest interior defensive lineman we’ve ever seen. However, the Rams are tasked with filling their large gap in their defense. Duke's combination of strength and athleticism give him a high ceiling.
53

Eagles
Kingsley SuamataiaOTBYU
Lane Johnson is aging, and Jason Kelce has retired. Time to start thinking about the future of the offensive line. Suamataia may be able to slide to guard as he awaits the Lane Johnson role.
54

Browns
Braden Fiske.DTFlorida State
The Browns are finally on the clock, still without a first round pick from acquiring quarterback Deshaun Watson. Cleveland will go defense here and look for a long term answer at DT.
55

Dolphins
Kamari LassiterCBGeorgia
Lassiter has fallen far enough, if he's still on the board here he's a steal for the Dolphins.
56

Cowboys
Jonathan BrooksRBTexas
This one makes too much sense. Brooks stays home in Texas, and fills the Cowboys big needs at running back.
57

Buccaneers
Christian HaynesGUConn
The Buccaneers need some help on the interior offensive line and Haynes provides that.
58

Packers
Javon BullardSGeorgia
The Packers have some temporary safeties, but need to secure the position long term next to Xavier McKinney.
59

Texans
Ennis RakestrawCBMissouri/b>
Texans are getting a steal here if Rakestraw falls this far, no brainer pick for them.
60

Bills
Cole BishopSUtah
Jordan Poyer headed to South Beach, and Micha Hyde also departed leaving a big hole in this Bills secondary. Taylor Rapp is back but they need a long term running mate for Rapp and I'm not sure Mike Edwards is that answer.
61

Lions
Mike SainristillCBMichigan
The Lions could use another piece in the defensive backfield and they get that here with Sainristill.
62

Ravens
Ja'Lynn PolkWRWashington
Zay Flowers had a great rookie season, but league MVP Lamar Jackson needs another playmaker to throw the ball to.
64

49ers
Zach FraiserC/GWest Virginia
The 49ers get a versatile offensive lineman to help this potent offense.
63

Chiefs
Kiran AmegadjieOTYale
Receiver in the first for Mahomes to throw to. Now let's get him more protection up front.
