Well, degens. We have entered the final week of what has been another exciting NHL regular season. The Western Conference playoff teams are set, but there’s still a race on for the last spot in the East. Sunday night, our entries went two out of three, and the Insured option players took home 0.76x profits. A new week begins on Monday, and there is a loaded eight-game NHL slate to try to pick off. Let’s go ahead and “TCB” and end the regular season with a big, fat banger or two. Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for April 15.
The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for April 15
Sidney Crosby Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Pittsburgh Penguins are fighting for their playoff lives on Monday night. They will skate on home ice against a Nashville team that has clinched a spot and cannot improve their seed. Because of the aforementioned facts, there was only one player that crossed my mind in this matchup. Sidney Crosby has put the team on his back lately and has 90 points on the season. The future HOF-er also now has logged points in four straight games. And that makes it a stretch of tallying at least a point in 14 of his last 16 games. Tonight is a big one, and Sidney will not go gentle into that good night. We’re taking Sidney Crosby Higher Than 0.5 Points to keep the Penguins playoff hopes alive.
Lucas Raymond Higher Than 0.5 Points
Much like the Penguins above, tonight, the Detroit Red Wings will also be playing for their playoff lives. Both points up for grabs in tonight’s game are necessary for the Red Wings, and their opponent is Montreal. The Wings have gotten key contributions from many players recently, none larger than Swedish winger Lucas Raymond. He sits on 69 points (Nice!) and has a four-game point streak intact. He has been peppering opposing goalies with 4-5 shots on goal per game and is being rewarded. In what may be a cagey affair, we are going with a hot-handed Swede. So, grab those hammers and mash Lucas Raymond Higher Than 0.5 Points on home ice against the Canadiens.
Kevin Fiala Higher Than 0.5 Points
The LA Kings have already booked a room at Playoff Inn, so Monday night is more of a formality. However, they’ll want to stay out of the reach of the VGK, who are hot on their tails in terms of seeding. With the opponent tonight being the Minnesota Wild, I’m calling a revenge-type game for Kevin Fiala. The winger is up to 72 points this season and faces his former hockey club. Fiala also had tallied points in six of his last eight games coming into Monday’s contest. Less than a month ago, Kevin dropped a goal and an assist on these same Minnesota Wild. Never underestimate the power of spite and vengeance. For that reason, we’re taking Kevin Fiala Higher Than 0.5 Points tonight against the Minnesota Wild.
