Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 10

All Pick ‘Em Selections Record: 8-3 (72%)
Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 1

Mookie Betts Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

New year, new position for Mookie Betts. The ever-talented 31-year-old is playing shortstop this season and has not missed a beat. Betts is easily the NL MVP through two weeks of the MLB season. Not only is he leading baseball in fWAR, but he is 6th in batting average (.380), 2nd in home runs (5), and 2nd in OPS (1.310).

Not only is Betts hot to start the season, but he has Twins starter Chris Paddacks’ number. In 6 career at bats against Paddack, Betts is 5-6 with 4 RBIs and a home run.

Paddack had a decent start in his first outing of the season against the Brewers on April 3rd. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 base hits over 4.0 innings pitched.

Although Betts has been on a tear to start the season, he has not recorded 2+ total bases since April 2nd. I think he will break out in this spot and have a monster game.

Juan Soto Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

Similar to Mookie, Juan Soto has also got off to a tremendously hot start in 2024. The new Yannkee seems to be embracing the New York spotlight. So far, Soto is hitting a cool .348 with 11 RBIs and has helped lead the Yankees to the best record in baseball.

On Wednesday, Soto and the Yankees will face off against the Marlins to conclude their three-game set. Ryan Weathers will be on the hill to start for the Marlins. Weathers will make his third start of the season. His first two starts were a mixed bag, allowing 3 earned over 4.0 in his first and 1 earned over 5.0 in his second.

In his career, Soto is 3-5 against with a home run. I’m predicting another big Soto game to help the Yankees finish the sweep.

Marcell Ozuna Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

How can we not go back to the well with Marcell Ozuna? Love him or hate him, the guy flat-out rakes every year. He already has 5 home runs and 13 RBIs on the season and is swinging a hot bat in this series against the Mets.

The loaded Braves lineup will face the Mets’ Opening Day starter, Jose Quintana, who has been excellent this year. He has allowed just 3 earned runs in 10.1 innings pitched. This might give you a cause for concern, but fear not. Ozuna’s career numbers against Quintana are as staggering as it gets.

In 22 career at bats, Ozuna is hitting .455 against Quintana with 2 doubles, 1 home run, 7 RBIs, and 2 walks, which is good for a 1.182 OPS. These numbers are just too good to avoid.
