Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 2
Carlos Correa Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Correa has gotten off to a decent start so far this season, with three hits in 11 at-bats. On Tuesday, Correa faces off against Jakob Junis of the Milwaukee Brewers. Correa has ridiculously good numbers against Junis in his career, hitting .727 (8-11) with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.
Junis made just four starts last season and was mainly used out of the bullpen. He pitched to a 3.87 ERA in 86.0 innings and will make his 2024 debut on Tuesday.
Correa and the Twins haven’t played since Sunday, so I expect the veteran to be well-rested and ready to mash the baseball.
Isaac Paredes Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Isaac Paredes is struggling to start the 2024 season. He has just two hits in 15 at-bats, so you might be wondering why on earth I have him going higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs? Well, in short, Paredes has had success hitting against Texas Rangers starting pitcher Andrew Heaney.
In a small sample size of two at-bats, Paredes is 2/2 off Heaney with a double and a home run. Paredes got the day off on Monday and should be ready to break out on Tuesday.
Jose Ramirez Higher than 7.0 Fantasy Points
Jose Ramirez has eclipsed 7.0 Fantasy points or higher in three out of five games this season, but that is not the only reason I like him in this spot. Ramirez and the Guardians are facing All-Star starting pitcher Luis Castillo.
Castillo struggled immensely in his first start of the season, giving up 4 ER in just 5.0 IP against Boston. Couple Castillo’s recent struggles with J-Ram having great career numbers off of Castillo makes this a slam dunk pick.
Despite being 5/20 off of Castillo, Ramirez has 3 home runs, 2 triples, and 6 RBIs, which is good for a .900 SLG and 1.150 OPS. Ramirez also has a tremendous eye and takes walks. Fantasy Points gives us some room for error if Castillo has Ramirez’s number on Tuesday.
