It’s the final week of The Texas Swing before we move to the best week of the year. TPC San Antonio is a course we see on a yearly basis on The PGA Tour. It is not an overly difficult test and does not give any real advantage to the bombers vs. the plotters. It will boil down to the second shot for this 2024 Valero Texas Open. We will see easy to medium scoring conditions that will allow the best approach players in the field to prosper. Here are the best DFS plays by range ahead of The 2024 Valero Texas Open.
2024 Valero Texas Open Best DFS Plays By Range
Upper Range: Collin Morikawa $10,100
I am calling this range “The Range of Motivation.” Clearly, all of these players would trade a win at Augusta for a win at TPC San Antonio. This really feels like a spot where Collin can catch the field sleeping while he is at a great number and get the job done.
Collin has not played many “weak” field events, but the last two lesser events he has played were The Zozo and The Rocket Mortgage. Those resulted in a win and a playoff loss.
Morikawa is not setting the world on fire and has actually lost strokes on approach in back-to-back events, which is crazy for Collin as the iron play is his driving force. He has had a few weeks to iron out the kinks and I can really see him in contention when people are counting him out.
Distance is an issue for him, but that is mitigated here. If it comes down to the second shot, why not run out Collin, who has shown to be a generational iron player in his career?

Mid Range: Byeong Hun An $9,000
Ben is coming off the worst ball-striking showing since the 2021 Memorial Tournament. Hopefully, this gets some of the love off of him because he has been a chalky golfer in 2024. Ben’s course history is very enticing.
He has finished T7 twice after teeing it up a few times here. I am sure he will bounce back from the missed cut, and we are getting somewhat of a discount because the field is strong. He played poorly in his last start. An is a great click in the middle of your 2024 Valero Texas Open DFS Lineups.
Bottom Range: Alexander Bjork $5,700
Bjork is coming off a week in which he missed the cut by a mile! He will be extremely low-owned and give you top-20 upside, but more importantly, he will make the cut.
As mentioned above, the driver is somewhat mitigated here, which is massive for Bjork. No matter the course, Bjork will lose strokes off the tee. He is a great second-shot golfer, which will treat him tremendously here. He is a great click in this range and a great way to complete your 2024 Valero Texas Open DFS lineups.
