Well, degens. Wednesday night’s light slate in the NHL cost us a banger, and sadly, we went just one for three. But we aren’t here to make excuses or cry about the losses. The Quick Pick was built on hard work and determination. Thursday night brings a brand new opportunity with 14 games on the NHL docket.
We know who we like, and we like who we know! So, let’s build this banger and return to the winners’ circle. Just like Romeo told Tin Cup at the US Open, “Do it, then! Quit messing around!” Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for March 28.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for March 28
John Carlson Higher Than 0.5 Points
Having won three games in a row, the Capitals appear to be on a mission to get into the playoffs. And the Massachusetts man himself, John Carlson, is in the midst of a heater. He skates into tonight’s massive game against Toronto on a six-game point streak.
Carlson has been all over the ice now, with two goals and five assists within his streak. The Leafs defense is of the Swiss Cheese variety and the blue-liner should have his looks tonight. Our first NHL Underdog entry is American-made, baby! Let’s go ahead and press the Higher Than 0.5 Points button on defenseman John Carlson.
Cale Makar Higher Than 0.5 Points
Let’s go from one veteran defenseman to a young, talented defenseman with our second NHL Underdog entry. The Colorado Avalanche have been on an absolute tear at home in March, having won five of six. Stud defenseman Cale Makar has had points in four of those six games, including three multi-point nights.
Thursday’s matchup against the Rangers should be a very good game to tune into. Makar already tallied a point against the Rangers this season, and he’s going to find the box score again tonight. So, tonight, we are punching the Higher Than 0.5 Points on Cale Makar at home against the New York Rangers.
Brock Boeser Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Vancouver Canucks are hell-bent on claiming the top seed in the Western Conference heading into the playoffs. They have now won seven out of 10 in March and sit just one point behind the Dallas Stars in the West. Who might Thursday’s opponent be? Oh, look, it’s the Dallas Stars!
We’re focusing in on American winger Brock Boeser in this spot, who comes in with 68 points this season. Brock has strung together consecutive games with points and has tallied six points in his last 10 games.
Digging into the archives just a bit, we found that Boeser tallied a goal against Dallas back in December. In other words, uno point-o por favor? Let’s mash the Higher Than 0.5 Points on Brock Boeser and cash this banger!
