The Washington Capitals are charging forward like Napoleon’s troops into Waterloo. They have now won five of their last six this month and have a massive matchup against Detroit tonight. Veteran defenseman John Carlson has been on a tear lately, with points registered in five straight games.
He’s been contributing goals and assists and had an assist against the Red Wings earlier this season. With two big-time points on the line, we’re going right to the blue-liner himself. Our first NHL Underdog entry on Tuesday night is John Carlson, Higher Than 0.5 Points on home ice.

With our second NHL Underdog entry, we go from one veteran blue-liner to another. Roman Josi happens to be on a tear of his own and dragging his team by the scruff of the neck into the playoffs. The Predators skate on home ice against the VGK on Tuesday night, and Josi is on a six-game heater.
Basically, Josi has been more reliable than the second hand on a clock. Oh by the way, he has three assists in just two games against the VGK this season. Our third NHL Underdog entry on Tuesday night will complete the defenseman play trifecta. Evan Bouchard has been all over the box score coming into tonight with a seven-game point streak. In his last three games, he has tallied an absolutely monster seven points.
Tuesday night, the Oilers will travel to Winnipeg in what should be an all-out battle for two points. Given his current form and past success against the Jets, Evan the Almighty is a smart pick in this spot.
