College Basketball Picks March 13th
USC vs. Washington (+3.5) (O/U 153)
It has been five days since Washington announced that it has parted ways with Head Coach Mike Hopkins. The USC loss at home on March 2nd may have been the final straw for the program. Washington will look to exact that revenge in the PAC-12 tournament today.
Neither team will make the tournament without winning the PAC 12 postseason bracket. Lets back the hotter USC team with the head coach still on the bench for now.
USC has won four of their last five to end the season. They have all the momentum they could finally ask for after a season of adversity.
Trojans to cover the spread and at their price to win the Pac-12 tournament as a long shot. This team doesn’t lack talent. They lack continuity.
The Pick: USC -3.5
Michigan vs. Penn State (-7) (O/U 149)
I was a little confused by the line when this one came out. I’m unsure where Penn State has earned this kind of respect, even against the Wolverines.
Michigan has had a season to forget, and we will see what happens with their head coaching job. There’s speculation that money has been freed up by hiring internally to replace Harbaugh, and they could potentially make a big play for a head basketball coach.
But it is one life to live for now. Michigan has gotten embarrassed on and off the court this whole season. When you give a new infusion of life into a program, it revitalizes energy and enthusiasm. Give me the Wolverines and entertain the ML as well.
The Pick: Michigan +7
