College Basketball Picks March 12th
Miami (-1.5) vs. Boston College (O/U 147.5)
At this point of the year, no one would have expected Boston College to have a chance to have a three game sweep against Miami.
About a year ago, Miami was a game away from the National Championship game, and now they are on the outside looking in. I am expecting that to change this week. Miami has an elite trio of guards and a hybrid big man in Norchad Omier who can change a game.
The Hurricanes have gotten hot at this point in the season the last two seasons. They also let a game slip away against Boston College last week. Miami is a high-variance team, which I love in a tournament setting.
I am expecting them to come out of the gates quickly and shut down Quinten Post, Claudell Harris Jr., and Jaeden Zackery. This trio is all The Eagles have, and Miami will attack them early and often to possibly get them into foul trouble.
Whether the Canes are able to do that or not, they are the more talented team, and I believe they will avoid this three-game sweep and look to heat up in March.
The Pick: Miami -1.5
Bryant vs. UMass Lowell (-6) (O/U 139.5)
Who’s going to give Vermont a run for their money? Both of these teams have shown great signs in the America East this year but have not taken the next step.
Bryant’s cast of transfers looks elite when they come together. That showed in their win at Florida Atlantic and the first half of their game at Vermont.
This team has another high-variance, but the floor is very high. I expect them to play as one against this solid UMass Lowell team. It should be close, but I trust The Bulldogs to have what it takes to advance.
The Pick: Bryant -6
