College Basketball Picks March 7th
North Alabama at Austin Peay (-3.5) (O/U 148.5 )
Austin Peay is absolutely rolling since January. They have just one loss since the start of February and have been scoring at an insane clip.
The last two games have been OT games to end the regular season. Both games were three-point wins, and the game before that was a four-point win. It seems like this line is a bit of a guess.
Austin Peay has taken it to North Alabama twice this season. It’s difficult to beat any team three times in a season in any sport. Now that the number one overall seed is out, there is a massive opportunity in this tournament. Anyone can take this one. Austin Peay will race these teams to 80. This will be a high-scoring affair.
The Pick: Austin Peay -3.5
Utah at Oregon State (+6.5) (O/U 143)
Utah is on the bubble—firmly on the bubble. Oregon State has played its last three on the road and will return home to complete its season with two final home games. It will take on the Utes and then the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday to end its regular season.
Utah took it to the Beavers earlier this season to the tune of 74-47. The biggest factor in the matchup was the points in the paint. That isn’t something that is changing from home and away.
The Utes know they have an advantage there, and the ultimate motivator of winning is to solidify getting into the tournament.
If this were the last game of the Beavers’ regular season, I would back them.
Definitely back Oregon State on Saturday against the Buffaloes. Colorado would be on the second leg of their Oregon road trip.
The Pick: Utah -6.5
