College Basketball Picks for February 26th

Selection Sunday is close. The games are getting tense, and the bubble is popping for a lot of teams while other teams create their own. Unfortunately, some teams have to finish out their season and have senior night left to make their mark, but other teams are still trying to punch a ticket. College Basketball Picks for February 26th

Miami (FL) at North Carolina (-14) (O/U 154.5)

There is no doubt who is going dancing and who is not here. Miami may not have made it official in a public statement. However, they have quit on the season. The NIL money didn’t buy them a team despite the collection of talent they had to begin the season.

Miami has dropped six straight. They sit at 6-11 in the ACC. There is little to no hope going into this game of leaving with a win. Nijel Pack is out for Miami again. Maybe Miami wins one of their last two games, but tonight is all Tar Heels.

Miami doesn’t rank inside the top 100 in any defensive metric. Expect the Tar Heels to pour it on this team early, as playing these games is just a formality for the Hurricanes. This was a 75-72 game in Miami.

North Carolina scores more than their 81.8 season ppg average at home. Expect a lackluster defensive effort from the Hurricanes here, limited fouls, and fast pace. 100 points is not off the table for UNC.

The Pick: Over 154.5

Baylor at TCU (-2.5) (O/U 148.5)

This game is relevant. Baylor comes off the home loss to Houston on Saturday to travel to TCU for another Big 12 game. Unforgiving scheduling here. Baylor finds themselves on a slippery slope now with two straight losses on the road.

Langston Love is questionable at this time for Baylor. Baylor backers would have a lot more confidence in him playing, as mentioned in the Saturday preview vs Houston. Not having a near 50% three-point shooter against Houston wasn’t ideal.

I am backing the Bears to correct course here at TCU. Baylor isn’t the only one with tough scheduling, as the Horned Frogs have to pack up and make a trip to BYU and West Virginia after this one.

A jostling for position in the Big 12 tournament, but nothing is guaranteed right now for March. TCU is a projected 9 seed and flirting with danger in the next week.

The Horned Frogs now have won six of nine while Baylor is sliding. Betting against both of the directions those trends are headed.

The Pick: Baylor +2.5
