In the first major trophy in English soccer this season, Liverpool and Chelsea meet at Wembley Stadium on Sunday for the Carabao Cup Final. This will be the third final that these two clubs have met in since the 2019-20 campaign. The Reds have won all three under manager Jürgen Klopp.
For the Blues, this is their first chance to win a domestic cup since lifting the FA Cup in 2018. A victory here also would earn Mauricio Pochettino’s team a spot in the Europa Conference League next season.
Our team at the Sports Gambling Podcast Network will give our best bets parlay below to go with our favorite props. We also have guest picks below from other networks to give you full betting coverage of the Carabao Cup Final.
Carabao Cup Final Props and Parlays
Favorite Side or Total –Under 2.75 (-108) BetRivers
Yes, the Premier League is an overs’ league this season. However, cup games, especially finals, do not typically lead to goals.
Only three of the previous nine Carabao Cup finals have finished with more than 2.5 goals. Two of those landed on three, which gets you back half of your wager here.
Meanwhile, the under is also profitable when these clubs face each other in cup games. In the last nine cup meetings, there have been less than 2.5 goals in seven of those fixtures in regular time.
The unders trend also includes all three cup finals the two teams have played against each other. I think this has a great shot of happening again.
Favorite Longshot Prop – Game Decided After Penalties – Yes (+550) Bet365
I mentioned above how these two sides have met in three cup finals over recent seasons. In all three of those meetings, the games were settled in penalties.
Meanwhile, this is a match that has been known to finish in a shootout. This bet would have cashed in three of the last eight Carabao Cup Finals.
You could also pick a shootout winner between the two sides to get odds above +1000 for either club. I’ll keep it simple to just have the game get to this point.
Favorite Bet – Raheem Sterling Over 1.5 Shots (-125) Bet365
The former Liverpool man is the player I’m targeting in the prop market for multiple reasons. For starters, this has been a profitable bet for Sterling this season.
In his last nine starts for Chelsea, he has had multiple shots in six of those matches in all competitions. This prop has also cashed in 15 of his 25 starts for the Blues this season.
I also like how this game sets up for him. I expect Chelsea to sit back defensively and try to hit Liverpool on the counter or in behind.
As long as he gets the starting nod, he has been the main player running behind defenses with his pace. A great example is over the weekend at Manchester City, where he had a trio of shots.
At Bet365, you can select to have the bet voided if he does not start, which I would recommend.
