The West Coast Swing is finally done. Hopefully, that means we can return to some PGA Tour normalcy. If that means Tony Finau figuring out how to putt in a weak field like he usually does, so be it. Here’s a look at my Mexico Open best DFS plays.
The Mexico Open is a bonafide birdie fest that will yield itself to the longest drivers and those who can find hot putters to the top of the leaderboard. Two of the bigger favorites have won this event the last few years and we have one name that stands above all.
2024 Mexico Open: Best DFS Plays By Range
Upper Range
Tony Finau $12,000
Uncle Tone fits the bill of the bomber who can heat up on the greens. Tony made it clear that he wanted to be here for this event and should be an auto-click in your lineups. Like we usually do with Scheffler, click the name at the top and build around it! It is not pretty, but Finau has so many avenues to the top.
Outside of him “just wanting to be here,” he has been absolutely lapping the field from tee to green. He is coming in with some of the best ball-striking numbers he has posted in months. Tony is the class of the field and is an auto-click in your 2024 Mexico Open DFS Lineups.
Mid Range
Maverick McNealy $8,1000
Maverick is coming off a great showing in Phoenix. He gained strokes in all four major categories for the first time since 2022. It looks like he finally has returned from the injury.
McNealy has never played here before, but he fits the bill of a long driver who can get extremely hot on the putting greens. There are not many events where Maverick is the class of the field, but I believe he will fare well this week in Mexico.
Greyson Sigg $7,200
Sigg is a great low-owned option for this week’s Mexico Open. Sigg has missed his last few cuts but has gained strokes ball striking in five straight starts. Combine that with a T18 in this event last season, and Sigg should be confident to play this week.
He is a safe name to make the cut in a field like this and has the game to find his way up the leaderboard. He will get your lineup looking very different, which is an important part of golf DFS.
Bottom Range
Sami Valimaki $6,700
Sami is a PGA Tour rookie with the game to contend. He is coming off his best iron performance of 2024, where he gained over four strokes to the field on approach.
Valimaki is a golfer who can get scorching hot in stretches, as he did last year on The DP World Tour. He is always in consideration for one of the lower rounds of the event but struggles to find consistency for the most part. In a field this week, Sami will give you birdie-making prowess and the ability to take it really low.
