College Basketball Picks February 16th

Ivy League Friday. We have the Ivy League on the court tonight. One of these teams is going to go dancing next month. Selection Sunday isn’t too far away. The Ivy League will be a one-bid league, but the nightcap in the Mountain West will be far more impactful on the field of 68. Check out my College Basketball Picks for February 16th!

College Basketball Picks February 16th

Brown at Princeton (-12.5) (O/U 142.5)

I’m looking at the slate as a whole tonight, and it doesn’t have anyone running to place bets. I am taking this opportunity to talk about a potential tournament team in March.

Yale is at the top of the Ivy League and on a winning streak that has them undefeated in conference play. Yale has been a mainstay at the top of the Ivy League, but the 1 seed hasn’t won the Ivy League tournament in the last three years.

Princeton was the representative for the nerds last year in March. They took down Arizona and Missouri in the same weekend before Creighton was able to knock them out in the Sweet 16.

Princeton is led by Sophomore guard Xaivian Lee. The guard leads Princeton in scoring and pairs up with Caden Pierce to make a formidable duo ready to compete again against the power conference teams if the opportunity is earned.

Princeton outmatches Brown by a large margin here. They just beat Brown by 10 on the road, and now they return home. Tiger should have themselves a three party tonight.

The Pick: Princeton -12.5

New Mexico at San Diego State (-6.5) (O/U 152.5)

The Lobos beat the Aztecs by 18 in their first matchup, and now they’re getting 6.5? Yes. There are some nuances of the College Basketball gambling market, and revenge games are especially high on the list. Add in the fact that the game is back on home court in primetime.

There’s a vast difference between home and away for this San Diego State team. They’ve dropped four of their last five games on the road outright. Colorado State didn’t shy away from the Aztecs in the first half in Viejas Arena. But then the Aztecs clamped them. SDSU allowed just 11 second-half points to turn a 14-point halftime deficit into a 16-point win.

If you would like to go double revenge spot, then it’s available. New Mexico went into San Diego State last year and took a victory. Back the Aztecs to keep their momentum gathered from the second half. New Mexico is off a loss and a one-point win in Nevada. They are due for a flat spot. It has been loading. Hence the line.

The Pick: San Diego State -6.5
