NBA x Super Bowl LVIII Cross-Sport Props

The Super Bowl is a sports bettor’s holiday weekend! Every prop imaginable is available for the big game on Sunday. One of my favorite markets is combining my love for football and basketball into a single prop. Here are some NBA Super Bowl props I am targeting for Sunday.

NBA x Super Bowl LVIII Cross-Sport Props

Chiefs Points or Kawhi Leonard Points vs Pistons on 2/10 (-1)

Naturally, I gravitated to this prop, being one of the few that is on the under for Super Bowl 58. 65% of bets and handles are on the over for the big game via DraftKings Sportsbook. And it makes sense. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid should lead to easy points, right?

Well, this year is a little bit different. The Chiefs offense only averaged 22.1 points per game compared to the 29+ they averaged each of the previous five seasons. And now they are dealing with an injury to their left guard, Joe Thuney. I expect to see this 49ers’ pass rush get home and really challenge Mahomes multiple times this game.

On the other hand, Kawhi Leonard has hit his stride going into the All-Star break. Leonard is sixth in the NBA, averaging 31.1 points per game in the last five games.

He already had a 33-point game versus this Pistons team last week. In my opinion, Kawhi is going to only need about 25 points to top the Chiefs team total. Being a one-point favorite is not enough. Taking Kawhi Leonard -1.

Chiefs Punts (-0.5) or Victor Wenbanyama Blocks vs. Nets on 2/10

I hate it as a fan of Patrick Mahomes, but I cannot ignore how conservative the Chiefs have been in the second half of games this season. The offense just has not clicked all year long, and the defense has bailed them out. Now, their Pro Bowl guard, Joe Thuney, is expected to be out for this game. I expect the 49ers to force the Chiefs into a few three-and-out scenarios.

Victor Wenbanyama is averaging 3.5 blocks this season, which is video game numbers. And this is all while playing on a minute restriction. However, can he still have one of those breakout 5/6 block games vs the Nets? I think that’s the range he has to be in to get the win here, so I am going to side with the Chiefs here.

Christian McCaffrey receiving yards (+4.5) or Stephen Curry Points, Rebounds, and Assists (PRA) vs. Suns on 2/10

If the 49ers find a way to get it done, then it is going to be on the back of Christian McCaffrey. The running back position is where you want to attack this Chiefs’ defense. This Chiefs defense has given up 50+ receiving yards to the running back position in the past two games.
