Death, taxes, short Friday slates. I know travel, logistics, and, oh… school is a reason for the packed Saturdays and slow Fridays. With that being said, there has to be a way to incorporate more Friday games into the slate. Nonetheless, here are the College Basketball picks for February 9th.

College Basketball Picks February 9th
San Diego State at Nevada (-1) (O/U 140.5)
The top half of the Mountain West is some of the most electric basketball in the entire country. Anyone can beat anyone, and the moneyline dogs have been absolutely cooking out here. I believe that is a reason why this spread is so short.
If this spread were closer to the four or five range, I would roll with the underdog because this game is so close to a 50/50 shot. With that being said, there are edges to be had, and that will come down to the Wolf Pack having home court in this one. Both teams are coming off multiple wins and are trending in the right direction. I trust the Pack to get the job done at home.
The Pick: Nevada -1
Dayton (-2.5) at VCU (O/U 135.5)
Two straight matchups where the Flyers are small road dogs. In college basketball, betting on small road favorites in conference is not a recipe for success. Dayton is an extremely talented team and has answered a ton of questions this season, but winning back-to-back close games on the road is never easy.
VCU has stepped up of late in conference and are now just two games back of Dayton. They have a MASSIVE chance to gain ground at home. The Siegel Center will be absolutely rocking on Friday, and VCU will get this win outright.
The Pick: VCU +2.5
