It will keep happening. Unranked home underdogs will pick off their ranked opponents every night in College Basketball. It’s more obvious than a system play at this point. It’s expected. Thursday gives us two matchups of the top 25 teams going on the road in conference. It would be a real shame if history repeats itself. Here are the College Basketball Picks for Thursday February 8th.

College Basketball Picks February 8th
Arizona at Utah (+5.5) (O/U 160)
Forget about that number next to Arizona. Their ranking is nearly by default, as everyone around them keeps losing. This same team was down double digits to Stanford at halftime. They revved it up in the second half and ultimately won the game. Arizona is just 2-3 against the spread as an away favorite this season.
Look for freshman KJ Lewis to continue to steal minutes from Kylan Boswell. Boswell is averaging just 6 points on the road this season while hitting just 23% of his threes. Lewis has put up double-digit points in his last two games and brings athleticism and energy to an offense that can have a void at times.
This is a revenge spot for the home Utes, as Arizona beat them earlier this season. Utah is 12-0 at home this season and just two games behind Arizona in the Pac-12 regular season race. A win here for Utah will clog things up at the top. Take the points with Utah and think about that money line.
The Pick: Utah +5.5
Arizona State at Colorado (-14.5) (O/U 149.5)
Arizona State has dropped six of their last seven and hasn’t shown life offensively. I don’t want to pick on the state of Arizona tonight, but the writing is on the wall. The Sun Devils have fallen to 230th in the adjusted offensive efficiency rankings.
The three-point shooting is nearly the bottom of all of college basketball. ASU doesn’t get inside the paint and score well and misses their free throws when fouled. Going into this environment spells a blowout for the Buffaloes, but I’m going to side with the under in Boulder. This is just a really high number for this game.
The Pick: Under 149.5
