Las Vegas, “Sin City,” “The Entertainment Capital of the World,” “Adult Disney.” It goes by many names, and let’s be honest, any time you are in Las Vegas is a good time. The “best” time to be there, though, varies based on what you are looking to accomplish while you are there.
Las Vegas is home to sweltering summer heat, so if you want to spend any time outside, keep in mind the temperature will exceed 100 degrees during the summer days.
Best Weekends to Visit Las Vegas
Less Crowded and More Relaxed: February, June, July, August
New Year’s Eve, the Super Bowl, and Valentine’s Day are usually the busiest times of year in Las Vegas. So, if you are just looking to relax a little and spend your time hitting the slots or playing some poker, maybe avoid those weekends.
June, July, and August have traditionally been the city’s least popular months, and with their scorching heat, most authorities still consider them the true Las Vegas low season.
The cold also seems to keep the crowd down as February (not around the Super Bowl) is also a slower time on the town. Keep in mind that Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, and even when it’s slower, it’s still full of life.
New Year’s Eve: December 31
New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas is truly a one-of-a-kind experience! It’s party central on the most epic party day of the year.
There are fireworks shows from the rooftops of hotels on the Strip, which can be seen from down on the street or at places like Floor 55 at Ghostbar, 60 stories above Fremont Street at the Legacy Club, or 100 stories high in the SkyPod Tower.
To ring in 2024, you could see shows by Demi Lovato and the Black-Eyed Peas. Or catch residency performers Luke Bryan, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, and Bruno Mars.
Valentine’s Day: February 14
This one you’ll have to spend up for, but they are worth it, aren’t they? If you want to treat your special someone to a Valentine’s to remember, look no further than Las Vegas.
What better place to propose than the sights of Las Vegas on Valentine’s Weekend? Or better yet, tie the knot in the city known as the “Wedding Capital of the World.”
Dinner by candlelight. Elegant ambiance. World-class food. Impeccable wines. If you’re looking to set the stage for the ultimate romantic evening, look no further than Las Vegas’ fine dining restaurants. You can always follow it up with a steamy Las Vegas show to set the mood.
For the Sports Lover – Super Bowl: February 11, 2024
The Super Bowl is the ultimate weekend in Las Vegas. Even more so in 2024, when the game is being played in Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Super Bowl parties hosted by celebrities are all the prop bets your heart can desire. Does Reba McEntire keep it to 83.5 seconds or less for the national anthem? Is the Gatorade purple this year?
If you can catch a ticket for the Circa Resort and Casino’s “Big Game Bash” at their famed Stadium Swim, it’s not one you’ll want to miss.

For the true degenerate sports gambler, March Madness may just be the best time to be in Las Vegas. Whether you are betting all 32 first-round games first-half unders, or just getting as much basketball action as you can.
Claim a spot, and park yourself for hours and days of non-stop college basketball action.
Poker Players: February, May 28 – July 17, 2024
The DeepStack Showdown Poker Series is holding a showdown in late February with more than 1.7 million in guarantees. Held at the Venetian, one of the most popular Vegas Poker venues.
