Monday proves a unique test of College Hoops betting on a weekly basis. We had a solid one last week, but it is always a challenge. We see the lowest of low majors here, but there is surely an edge to be had in some of these games. Here are the College Basketball picks for January 22nd.

College Basketball Picks January 22nd
Wake Forest at North Carolina (-8.5) (O/U 155.5)
I was as high as anyone on this Wake Forest team pre-season. They did an amazing job in the transfer portal. They brought in one of the most electric mid-major guards in Boopie Miller and high-level guard Hunter Sallis from Gonzaga.
UNC has rattled off eight straight wins since they dropped two in a row. This is a great spot for them to pick a solid conference win, and I would expect them to do that.
With that being said, 8.5 seems a bit too much. This is one of the best Wake Squads of the last few years, and I believe they can take UNC to the brink.
The Pick: Wake Forest +8.5
Nicholls (-3.5) at Incarnate Word (O/U 146.5)
Nicholls has been the class of the Southland over the last few seasons but has fallen apart just short of the NCAA Tournament. This year, they lost a ton of production from the recent years’ team but are just as dangerous.
Tevon Saddler has done a good job in his first year as head coach for the Colonels. Incarnate Word has grown a ton this year and is no longer a pushover in conference. They are coming off four straight losses and are already fighting for their conference lives.
Nicholls will be the better team on both sides of the court, but UIW will surely come out of the gates hot. I expect this to ramp up the intensity from Nicholls and, with that, ramp up the points; we will take another stab at a total, which is 5-1 in the last six picks.
