A massive Thursday of hoops on tap. On Tuesday, we had a load of top 25 teams in action, but today, it is mid-major action. No problem at all. There is money to be made. Let’s take a look at two matchups on this evening’s slate. Here are the College Basketball picks for January 18th.

College Basketball Picks January 18th
UNC Asheville at Winthrop
Two teams at the top of the Big South standings meet up in Rock Hill. Preseason favorites, UNC Asheville, have rallied from a slow start to the season. They come in at 11-8 with a 3-1 conference record.
Winthrop is the first team to have four wins in the conference, and they are unbeaten thus far. What Winthrop does best is run, score, and shoot. The Eagles are usually undersized on a yearly basis and have done well adapting the run-and-gun play style.
Asheville is one of the most talented teams in the league and can score as well. One of these teams will get out in front early and dictate the pace. No matter who that is, they will continue to run.
I believe these teams will feed off each other, and we will get a high-scoring game. The totals have done us well. Let’s ride with the over.
The Pick: Over
Green Bay at Wright State
Green Bay has been one of the surprise mid-major programs in the country. They were down right horrific last season and are currently tied for first in the league. Earlier this season, Green Bay took care of Wright State on the road by double digits. They were 7.5-point underdogs in that matchup.
Wright State gets its chance for revenge. Just like the entire Nation, The Raiders were caught off guard in that first matchup. They have been the class of the Horizon League for years and should be far more prepared for this matchup.
Although they are 4-3 in the league, they have a lot ahead of them, and it will start with a commanding victory at home against Green Bay.
