Well, Quick Pick readers and trailers, unfortunately, we didn’t go a perfect three for three on Tuesday night. But, the wise NHL Underdog degen using the Insured option did collect 1x profit for getting two out of three. I guess it really was true when Meatloaf sang that “Two out of three ain’t bad.”
The good news is that this week is off to a profitable beginning, and now we look forward to Wednesday night. It’s a light three-game NHL slate tonight, so we’ll have to really lock in to build this banger. Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for January 17.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for January 17
Nick Suzuki Higher Than 0.5 Assists
The Montreal Canadiens have some fight in them, but sadly it will not see them into the playoffs this year. One of the bright spots is London, Ontario native Nick Suzuki, who has 12 goals and 25 assists. Wednesday night, the Canadiens will travel to New Jersey and will take on a banged up Devils squad.
Suzuki comes into this game with assists in each of his last two games. As one of the focal points in their offense, this is a great spot for Suzuki to pick an apple. Our first NHL Underdog entry on Wednesday night is Nick Suzuki to go Higher Than 0.5 Assists in New Jersey.
Alex DeBrincat Higher Than 0.5 Assists (1.25x Odds)
The Detroit Red Wings will face a tough Florida Panthers team on Wednesday night. American winger Alex DeBrincat has been showcasing his talent this year with 17 goals and 23 assists. Coming into tonight’s game, DeBrincat has assists in each of his last two games.
He also faced this Panthers team back in November and peppered them with five shots on goal. The Red Wings have won five of six here in January and may just catch the Panthers cat-napping tonight. Let’s trust American-made Alex DeBrincat to go Higher Than 0.5 Assists at a spicy 1.25x price on Wednesday night!
Jack Quinn Higher Than 0.5 Points
Don’t make me take a Buffalo Sabres player tonight. Please, please, please, I don’t want to! Of course, loyal readers will recall I am a struggling Buffalo fan. But tonight, the depleted Blackhawks visit snowy Buffalo, and I smell a Jack Quinn point. He put in a solid performance against the Sharks on MLK Day, tallying an assist.
And he’s spending time on a Sabres power play in place of the injured Jeff Skinner. So we’re going to bite down and give this third NHL Underdog entry hell. Go ahead and press Jack Quinn to go Higher Than 0.5 Points on home ice against a Bedard-less Blackhawks team.
