College Basketball Picks January 16th
Purdue (-9.5) at Indiana (O/U 151.5)
The Boilers head to Bloomington to take on the Hoosiers of Indiana at Assembly Hall. Both of these teams had rocky weeks. Purdue lost on the road to a surging Nebraska team, while IU lost to a Rutgers team that has owned them over the years.
Assembly Hall is known as one of the toughest places to play, and Purdue has learned that over the years. This year, I do not believe Indiana has an answer for Edey. Purdue will feed him as much as possible and score at will.
This will lead Indiana to play more of an up-tempo style to try and keep pace with Edey and Co. I expect Purdue to take care of business in the end, but points will be scored on both ends.
The Pick: Over 151.5
Buffalo at Toledo (-14.5) (O/U 155.5)
When the Rockets get going, they are tough to stop. Even after losing their best player in RayJ Dennis, they find themselves atop the MAC Standings. Buffalo was a great program while Nate Oats was at the helm but they really turned the tide in the wrong direction since then.
The Bulls head to Ohio to face the Toledo train that is just getting started. I see a good, old-fashioned blowout in this one. I know it is a lot, but lay the points here.
The Pick: Toledo -14.5
