College Football Bowl Picks and Bets for December 29

Gator Bowl: Clemson vs. Kentucky

12:00 pm on ESPN

Clemson to COVER the -4.5 spread

Clemson disappointed a lot of people to start the season. After that, we forgot about them. While we weren’t watching, Clemson finished the year winning four straight while covering the spread in each of those contests.

Not easy wins, either – victories have come against Notre Dame, UNC, and South Carolina. Clemson should be able to continue the hot streak in the Gator Bowl.

Sun Bowl: Notre Dame vs. Oregon State

2:00 pm on CBS

Notre Dame and Oregon State to stay UNDER the 41.5 total.

Oregon State’s games have gone under in four out of the last five games played. Notre Dame’s offense will be hurting without star quarterback Sam Hartman behind center. What else do we need to know? This game looks to be a dud – don’t expect a lot of scoring here, and bet the under.

Liberty Bowl: Iowa State vs. Memphis

3:30 pm on ESPN

Memphis and Iowa State to go OVER the 58 point total

Is Iowa State getting an over bet? Hear me out here – Memphis games have gone over in five straight contests, with four of those having significantly higher totals than this one. Iowa State’s final game against Kansas State finished 42-35. This has the makings of a fun one – take the over here.

Cotton Bowl: Missouri vs. Ohio State

8:00 pm on ESPN

Ohio State to COVER the -2.5 point spread

Ohio State is loaded with too much talent for this game to stay close. They will be down some starters, but the program has enough talent from front to back that this game should be an easy win for them. Mizzou has been good this season and may play it close, but Ohio State should win by more than a field goal.
