Merry Christmas, everyone, we have hoops to bet on! The Diamond Head Classic comes to a finish from Honolulu as Nevada takes on Georgia Tech at 9 pm Eastern. College Basketball Picks December 24th
TCU -5.5 vs Hawaii (147.5)
Hawaii is coming off an absolute classic in their last matchup. They came down from 21 behind Georgia Tech in the second half to take the lead late but eventually fell to the Yellow Jackets.
You could just tell how much that game, this event, and playing on their home floor means to the Rainbow Warriors. I expect them to come out with a bit of vengeance and take care of business against this TCU squad.
The Frogs will have a bit of a size advantage, but I think Hawaii can make up for it with their excellent guard play. I would not be shocked if Hawaii wins this game outright.
The Pick: Hawaii +5.5
Nevada -6.5 vs Georgia Tech (142)
Championship matchup here as the surging Wolfpack are sizable favorites against the Yellow Jackets. Nevada’s roster construction turned heads pre-season, but we did not expect it to be this good. 11-1 out the gates has them primed to make some real noise in the Mountain West.
On the other end, Georgia Tech has to feel lucky to be here. Although they got through UMass and Hawaii, both of those games could have gone the other way.
I see this game going one of two ways. Nevada steamrolls them or both of these teams, showing tired legs and this being a sloppy contest. Both of those are paths to the under, so we will go that route.
