The Sunday crowd will try to tell you that today the NFL is king, but NHL Underdog degens know better. Saturday’s entry went two out of three, so if you played the Insured option, you were still a 1.25x winner. With the season’s successful pick rate just north of 74%, we’re still in the midst of a heater. Sunday’s five-game slate in the NHL looks dicey, so we’re getting creative and making the most of it. Like that guy Babe Ruth from The Sandlot said, “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die!” Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for December 17.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for December 17
Jesper Bratt Higher Than 0.5 Assists
The Devils have rattled off five wins in their last six, and Jesper Bratt is hotter than the sun. Coming into Sunday’s matchup against the Ducks, the Swedish winger is sporting a seven-game point streak. During that streak, he has tallied a monster four goals and seven assists.
Bratt also benefits from playing with some extremely talented teammates, which bodes well for assists. A look into the archives also shows us that Bratt had two assists last season against the Ducks. With all evidence pointing to a basket of apples, how can we not pick one on Sunday? Let’s take Jesper Bratt Higher Than 0.5 Assists against Anaheim for our first NHL Underdog entry.
Josh Norris Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Ottawa Senators have fallen on hard times this holiday season, having lost a staggering five of eight in December. But it’s not for the ones who are trying, and center Josh Norris has done that and then some. In December, Josh tallied three goals and one assist to bring his season point total up to 14.
He is also averaging over three shots on goal per game, so he’s creating the opportunities for himself. Sunday night, Ottawa travels to Vegas, who is coming off a loss of their own to lowly Buffalo. Playing on a team due for a win, let’s trust Mr. Norris to find us a point in Sin City. Go ahead and press the Higher Than 0.5 Points for Josh Norris against the VGK.
William Eklund Higher Than 0.5 Points (1.25x Odds)
Our third NHL Underdog entry is playing for a Sharks team that’s won four of their seven games this month. The 21-year-old Swedish winger has seven goals and seven assists in 2023 and is turning the screws lately. Heading into Sunday night’s matchup against the buzzsaw Avalanche, Eklund has five points in his last four games.
He’s also averaging about 16 minutes of ice time and will probably see at least that tonight in Colorado. With a little extra pepper on Eklund at 1.25x Sunday, his point will be a tasty addition to our banger! We’re taking William Eklund to go Higher Than 0.5 Points against Colorado, and then we’ll be collecting our cash.
