The NBA schedule rolls on as they approach their biggest day of the year, Christmas Day. Monday brings us an 11-game slate to pick some good plays from. Here are my NBA picks for December 18th.

NBA Picks December 18th
Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: 76ers -10.5
Total: 228.5
When I originally saw the spread here I was going to pass on it. Chicago has been playing better lately, and 10.5 points is a lot of points. Then I looked at the spreads of the last four Philadelphia 76er games (part of a six-game winning streak): 45, 18, 32, 53. Ok, maybe 10.5 points isn’t too much after all. Especially at home, where they are 10-3 (Chicago is 3-10 on the road). Philly -10.5 is the play – the total of 228.5 looks lined up about right, so no play.
Best Bet: 76ers -10.5 (-110)
Brooklyn Nets vs. Utah Jazz
Tipoff – 9:00 pm EST
Spread: Nets -3.5
Total: 231.5
This has been a rough West Coast road trip for the Brooklyn Nets. Since it kicked off last Monday, Brooklyn has gone 1-3, only squeaking out a win at Phoenix over that span. But I think they go home with a win Monday night in Salt Lake City. The Utah Jazz are brutal this year, going 9-17 so far, and star Lauri Markkanen is on a minutes restriction as he returns from injury, Jordan Clarkson is on the sidelines injured, and John Collins is questionable with an illness. Nets minus 3.5, please and thanks. Once again, no play on the total.
