Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks For December 10th

Underdog Pick Em Record (Est 12/1/2023)

All Pick Em Selections: 13-9-2

Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 1-7

Tyson Degenhart (Boise State) Higher Than 14.5 Points

Boise State is a 22.5-point favorite Tuesday night against Northwestern State. The Demons’ defense ranks 357th in defensive efficiency on KenPom. Tyson Degenhart is the Broncos’ best player, but he started slow in November due to a “facial injury.”

The opponents he’ll be facing in Northwestern State’s frontcourt are both negative defenders, according to EvanMiya’s DBPR. Degenhart has scored more than 14.5 points in four of Boise State’s five games against mid-major competition so far this season.

Julian Reese (Maryland) Higher Than 26.5 PRA

Maryland is another large favorite of 20 points against Alcorn State Tuesday night. The Terrapins notoriously have played better at home than on the road, and their center, Julian Reese, fits that description.

In home games this season Reese is averaging 19 PPG, 12.3 REB, 1 AST. Also, against mid-majors at home, the higher than 26.5 PRA is 4-1. The one loss was by the hook, and the cover margin is 5.25 PRA per game.

Viktor Lakhin (Cincinnati) Higher Than 26.5 PRA

Once again, Cincinnati is a large favorite against Bryant on Tuesday night. However, I think the Bulldogs could potentially hang around for 35 minutes in this game. In the first two games of the season, Lakhin barely played, and I don’t know what the cause of that was because Lakhin is the Bearcats’ leading scorer and rebounder.

In Cincinnati’s last three games, Lakhin has recorded more than 26.5 PRA. Playing the higher on this player projection is also 5-1 in the Bearcats’ last six games. Lastly, in the 4 games where Lahkin plays at least 26 minutes, he has recorded more than 26.5 PRA in all four.

BONUS SPICY: Jahmir Young (Maryland) Higher Than 2.5 Turnovers

Most of the time, I write this article the night before the games take place. However, Underdog didn’t have any props up last night, forcing me to wait. This is the first spicy player projection on Underdog that I’ve seen this month.

I don’t understand why this prop is spicy. Jahmir Young averages 3.2 turnovers a game. Young’s more than 2.5 TOs is 7-2 in Maryland’s 9 games this season, and it’s 5-1 against Mid-Major competition. For 1.25x additional earnings, this is a no-brainer-worth-the-extra-risk on a high variation turnover stat in my eyes.
