Ladies, gentlemen, and degens alike, our Tuesday night NHL Underdog entry went a solid two out of three. The Quick Pick’s NHL season successful pick rate is now firmly at 61%, and tonight, we go again. Wednesday night’s four-game slate leaves something to be desired, but we’ll work with what we get around here. One note for any newcomers: you’ll never read anything about a “Lower Than” here in this NHL Underdog article. There’s no fun in rooting for something to NOT happen in sports, and life’s too short to bet the under. So pour yourself a drink, read our words below, and build your banger. It’s honestly that simple. Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for December 6.
The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for December 6
Pavel Buchnevich Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Blues have been a tough team to get a read on after about two months of the NHL season. Coming into Wednesday night’s matchup against the Golden Knights, they sit one point to the good for a wildcard spot. Their 28-year-old winger Pavel Buchnevich has now tallied nine goals and 10 assists across 22 games this season. Pavel’s recent form is finer than an aged Merlot, with points in three of his last five.
He also netted a goal just two nights ago against this same Vegas team. Looking back further to last season, Buchnevich tallied three points in three games against the VGK. The defense now rests, and the verdict is in. Let’s take Pavel Buchnevich Higher Than 0.5 Points for our first NHL Underdog entry on Wednesday night.
Martin Necas Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Carolina Hurricanes center has put together a fine 2023 season with seven goals and 11 assists. Wednesday night, the Canes skate into Edmonton to face a much improved Oilers team. Necas will need to remain in good form to take two points, but I trust him to do so.
Martin now sports a three-game point streak and has tallied points in five of his last seven. He also has one goal against Edmonton earlier this season and four points in two games against them last season. It’s time to put out an alert. This Hurricane just got upgraded to a category four-point streak. We’re taking Martin Necas Higher Than 0.5 Points with our second NHL Underdog entry.
Evan Bouchard Higher Than 0.5 Assists
I’ve spent a lot of time this season criticizing the under-achieving Edmonton Oilers. I even installed a self-imposed ban on using Connor McDavid in my NHL Underdog entries. But coming into Wednesday night’s game, the Oilers have won four straight and are showing signs of life. Their star 24-year-old blue-liner Evan Bouchard has been on a tear in that stretch and currently sports an eight-game point streak.
The kid has also logged an assist in each of his last three games and five across his last six. Right now, Bouchard is more dialed in than a telemarketer trying to sell you a cruise. Let’s press the Higher Than 0.5 Assists for Evan Bouchard and roll this Wednesday night banger into the hole.
