This is the shortest slate of the season here, as we have a whopping six games of action. We will see some top-five hoops as Iowa heads to Purdue. We will also see Alabama host Arkansas State in a bounce-back spot. Here are the College Basketball Picks for December 4th.

College Basketball Picks December 4th
Iowa at Purdue (-12.5) (O/U 165.5)
Purdue is coming off an overtime loss to Northwestern and host Iowa in their initial Big Ten home game for the season. Northwestern’s only path to success was to exploit Purdue’s slow guards, and that is exactly what they did. Sadly for Iowa, they do not have the guard play that Northwestern does. Iowa will look to play at an extremely fast pace and outscore the Boilermakers with the three ball. They will have zero answer for Edey inside, so shooting the ball is their only option.
I believe Iowa can upset Purdue every few meetings, but I would not want to face them off a loss. Throw in that this will be the Big Ten home opener, and I believe Purdue will come out with some vengeance. Give me the Boilers by double digits.
The Pick: Purdue -12.5
Furman (159.5) at Arkansas -12.5
Arkansas is coming off a massive early season win as they defeated the Blue Devils of Duke to get the momentum started for the season. Furman is 4-4 on the season and still trying to find their footing after losing some key players from last year’s NCAA Tournament team.
Both of these teams love to push the pace and can light it up. Arkansas will have a massive advantage on the perimeter, which will allow their guards to get to the rim at will. I believe we will see little defense in this matchup, and this game will soar over the total. Let’s ride with the over.
The Pick: Over 159.5
