College Basketball Picks November 28th
Akron at UNLV (-3.5) (O/U 137.5)
Akron continues to be one of the best teams in the MAC, and they have a chance to prove that on a bigger stage tonight. They head to Vegas to take on UNLV as small underdogs. Through the early stages of the season, both of these teams have shown success and the ability to score.
UNLV is a team I sometimes shy away from betting on, and that is because of the volatile roster they present. With a ton of new names coming in the last few seasons, you never really know what you are going to get. One thing I am sure of is these two teams can feed off each other. With a fairly benign number sub 140, let’s play the over here.
The Pick: Over 137.5 (-110)
Mississippi State (-8) at Georgia Tech (O/U 136.5)
Is Mississippi State overachieving, or are they just good? I would say it is a little bit of both. Chris Jans has proved to take that hard-nosed style of basketball that worked at New Mexico State into the SEC and is having great success.
Georgia Tech has been alright thus far, but they have an opportunity to prove a point in Atlanta tonight. They host a top 25 opponent, which means the energy will be live in the building. As I stated above, Mississippi State may be overachieving a tad with the roster they currently have. They are still without their center and best player, Tolu Smith, and I believe they will come back down to earth shortly. Let’s buy the home dog here.
The Pick: Georgia Tech +8 (-110)
