College Basketball Picks November 20th
Tennessee -13.5 vs Syracuse (145.5)
The Maui Invitational is arguably the most notable MTE (Multiple-Team Events) in College Hoops. Coaches, players, and fans all get to gather for a week in Hawaii for some early-season action. This is surely a bucket list trip if you are a hoops fan. Tennessee is the only team I bet to win the National Championship and are my pick to win the SEC.
Clearly, I am extremely high on them for the season. They return so much production and has veterans in all the right spot. The Vols are going to be a machine this season.
Syracuse is in year one of the Adrian Autry era, and they truly have not looked great. Generally, I hate betting on games involved with The Orange because of how volatile of a team they are. All the shooting gives them a really high floor but a super low ceiling. In this game, they know they will not be able to win a slug match with one of the best defensive teams in the nation.
If Syracuse has any chance here, they need to play fast and score the basketball. With that being said, Tennessee can pick up the pace if they need to, as well. I would assume Coach Autry will implement this fast game plan, and we will see a lot of points in Hawaii.
The Pick: Over 145.5
Saint Joseph’s (149.5) at Kentucky -16.5
Let us head to SEC country! Firstly, let’s talk a little bit about the visitors. This is the most hype we have seen around Saint Joe’s Basketball in a long time. This team returned the fourth most minutes played in the entire country heading into the season.
Starting off 3-0 in dominant fashion, The Hawks fell to Texas A&M Commerce as 17.5-point favorites a few nights ago. This is almost exactly what we saw with our Seattle pick two days ago (which cashed). The Mid-Major has a road trip against a high-major squad but falls to a super small school the game prior. That, my friends, is what we like to call a look-ahead spot.
Saint Joe’s knows they can compete with this extremely young Kentucky team, and that is where their eyes were last game. I am happy they lost outright because that will surely dial them back in for this contest. Take the points with the Hawks, who are ready to head into Rupp.
The Pick: Saint Joseph’s +16.5
