Each week on DraftKings, one of the keys to building a good lineup is unlocking good value plays. You may only need two or three of these players in your lineup, but they’ll unlock the ability to play stud players with incredibly high ceilings. I’ve outlined the best value plays at each position on DraftKings for Week 9.

Best Week 9 DraftKings Value Plays
Quarterback:
Taylor Heinicke ($5K) – Our favorite gunslinger is back, as the Falcons have announced Heinicke will be the starter in Week 9. Heinicke plays like every game is his last; he’s not afraid to throw the ball downfield, and he can scramble if needed, too. He threw for 175 yards and a touchdown in just a half in relief last week.
Gardner Mishew ($5.2K) – Another backup QB, now a starter who is a true gunslinger. He may make mistakes, but we don’t care for fantasy purposes. He’s also not afraid to throw the ball downfield and rack up passing yards. In four full starts as the Colts’ starter this season, he has averaged 269 passing yards per game.
HONORABLE MENTION: Aidan O’Connell ($4.5K), Mac Jones ($4.9K)
Running back:
Rhamondre Stevenson ($5.4K) – Make no mistake, this has not been a good season so far for Stevenson. But he’s still getting 10-17 touches these last four games. Now he faces a Commanders’ defense that just traded away two defensive linemen and was already one of the weakest defenses in the league.
Chubba Hubbard ($5K) – Hubbard has taken over as the lead running back in Carolina, getting 15 and 19 carries in their last two games. He now faces a Colts defense that gives up the 7th most rushing yards allowed this season.
HONORABLE MENTION: Darrell Henderson Jr. ($5.1K) and Emari Demarcardo – Questionable ($4.7K)
Wide Receiver:
Demario Douglas ($4K) and JuJu Smith-Schuster ($3.1K) – I already mentioned attacking the Commanders’ struggling and now depleted defense. The passing game is especially weak and one we’ve wanted to target all season. The Patriots lost WR Kendrick Bourne for the season, and DeVante Parker is in concussion protocol and has not practiced yet this week. This leaves a massive opportunity for both Douglas and Smith-Schuster.
Michael Gallup ($3.6K) – Despite getting 23% of the Cowboys’ air yard share this season, Gallup has yet to do much with his opportunities. At this price for a receiver that runs 80%+ of routes in the highest total game on the slate, he still is a good value play.
HONORABLE MENTION: Rashod Bateman ($3.3K) and Van Jefferson ($3.6K)
Tight End:
-Trey McBride ($3.7K) – McBride exploded last week for 10 catches, a touchdown, and 25.5 DraftKings points. The opportunity is massive, and the price is still reasonable.
-Logan Thomas ($3.5K) – Thomas has proven to be one of QB Sam Howell’s go-to targets. Washington is throwing a very high rate this season, as they are 3rd in pass rate over expectation. So Thomas should have good volume again this week at a great price.
HONORABLE MENTION: Hunter Henry ($3.6K)
