I believe the Carolina Hurricanes are poised to have a great 2023 NHL season. To accomplish this, Seth Jarvis should also be poised to have a great individual season. His opener in 2023 comes against the Ottawa Senators, a team Jarvis feasted on in 2022. So let’s keep this first pick ’em play simple and punch the Higher Than 0.5 Assists on Seth Jarvis.
Tim Stutzle Higher Than 3.5 Shots (1.25X odds)
The German shouldered a heavy load for the Sens in 2022, and he will need to do so again in 2023. Although Carolina is stingy on defense, I am hitching my Underdog pick ’em cart to the Tim Stutzle wagon in this spot. Kevin Fiala Higher Than 1.5 Points (2X odds)
The former Minnesota Wild guy really had a solid second half of the 2022 season in LA. He also always seems to find himself in the box-score action. On Wednesday night, the Kings will need an excellent performance from Kevin to combat the high-octane Avalanche. At 2X odds, this play is lofty, but I’ll take the man who gets in on the action for LA. Close your eyes and pick the Higher Than on Kevin Fiala 1.5 Points.
Conor McDavid Higher than 0.5 Goals
What better way to cash a spicy four-leg Underdog Fantasy ticket than anchoring it with Conor McDavid? This looks like a dream spot, as he torched the Canucks in last season’s opener with four points and a hat-trick. The Canucks seem to enjoy playing a Swiss-cheese style of defense, and their netminder will suffer the wrath of McDavid. We’re hammering the Higher Than 0.5 Goals pick ’em on Conor McDavid!
