Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – October 11
Alex Bregman – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Bregman is trending hot right now. The Astros are on the brink of another ALCS, and he’s looked good at the plate. While he’s just 1-for-6 in the series, he does have three runs, which means he’s averaging to beat this projection in each game. Plus, the peripherals look even better than the performance.
In addition to all that, he’ll face a pitcher that he’s had success with. He’s 3-for-6 career against Joe Ryan with a pair of walks. He has a double and a homer in there as well, which should make this projection a cinch.
Austin Riley – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Riley broke out in a big way last game when the Braves needed it the most. His two-run, 8th-inning homer put the Braves up for good, and his heads-up defensive play clinched the game in the 9th. If you believe in momentum, nobody has more than Riley does right now.
If that’s not enough to back him, check his record against Aaron Nola. He’s 21-for-54 career against him, which is good for a .389 batting average. Furthermore, he has five doubles and five homers in that span to give him a .759 slugging percentage.
Brandon Pfaadt – Higher than 3.5 Strikeouts
July 29th – that’s the date you’d have to go back to in order to find the time when Pfaadt didn’t hit this projection. That includes exceeding the mark twice in the month of August against the Dodgers – once home and once away. Since the last time he failed to get four, he’s gone for 6+ on five separate occasions.
