Dinger Tuesday: 3 Under-The-Radar Home Run Picks for September 26th
Home Run Player Prop Pick: Christian Encarnacion-Strand (+400)
Cincinnati Reds rookie slugger Christian Encarnacion-Strand has been quietly heating up as the season winds down. He’s homered in each of his last two games and three of his last four. Going back a bit further, CES has hit a home run in five of his last seven games.
Guardians starting pitcher Lucas Giolito has allowed seven home runs in his four starts with Cleveland. He’s allowed 37 home runs in 31 total starts this season. Take these odds on CES to stay hot at 4/1.
Home Run Player Prop: Nelson Velazquez (+550)
Speaking of red-hot rookies, Kansas City Royals outfielder Nelson Velazquez has hit 17 home runs in just 146 at-bats this season (49 games). That’s a pace of over 50 home runs in a full season.
Velazquez homered twice in his last game on Sunday in Houston. He is now up to nine home runs in 19 September games (18 starts). This line seems extremely high at +550.
Home Run Pick: Brent Rooker (+425)
Oakland Athletics slugger Brent Rooker is one home run shy of 30 on the season. He’s been a bright spot in an otherwise typical dreary season in Oakland.
Rooker hasn’t homered in three straight games, but prior to that, he had six home runs in his last nine games.
Twins starter Bailey Ober has been up and down this season. He’s allowed a home run in each of his 10 starts since the All-Star Break, and he could serve one up to Rooker tonight.
