Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – September 24
Luis Robert Jr – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Luis Robert Jr. doesn’t have much of a past with Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford. The two have only faced each other three times in their respective careers. Two of those matchups ended with Robert depositing the ball behind the outfield wall. Add in that he’s cleared this projection in four of the last five games and I like what I see.
Christian Yelich – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
This series has been great for Christian Yelich as he tries to get back on track for the playoffs. After needing some time off, he came back on Friday in a two home run effort in which he scored four runs and RBI. Last night was not quite as good, but he did manage two hits, one of which was a double, and a run to go with it.
The pitching matchup on Sunday is going to be a little trickier for Yelich with Edward Cabrera taking the mound. However, he’s been walking a lot of batters, which will lead to Yelich getting some chances against the bullpen. Also, the walks might led to him scoring a run here anyways.
Marco Luciano – Higher than 0.5 Total Bases
I’m going with a guy who isn’t exactly a household name for my last pick. The 22-year old Luciano was recalled to start this series with the Dodgers. In the series, he’s 4-for-10, which includes his first double last night. He’s clearly seeing the ball well and the Dodgers are having a tough time getting him out. With the projection so low, I think it’s worth a swing as one of my MLB plays for September 24.
