Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – September 20
Bo Naylor – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Bo Naylor has been hot as of late. He’s gone over this mark in each of his last four games and has been hot all month. He’ll also be facing Zach Greinke, who he has a very limited sample size against. However, that sample size is a good one. He’s 2-for-3 career against Greinke, with both of those hits being home runs. He just needs to get a hold of one pitch here to clear the projection.
Austin Riley – Higher than 8.0 Fantasy Points
While Bo Naylor has a limited sample size against Wednesday’s starter, Austin Riley has seen his foe time and time again. Riley has seen Aaron Nola for 51 at-bats over his career and has 21 hits – good for a .412 batting average. On top of that, ten of those 21 hits are for extra-bases, including five home runs.
It’s not just that he has a good history, either. He’s been swinging a good bat as of late. He has multiple hits in four of his last six games, which would pretty much clear this projection on its own.
Justin Steele -Higher than 6.0 Strikeouts
I’m always high on the Justin Steele projections, but I like them even more now that the numbers have come down a bit. He’s had back-to-back games with just five and six strikeouts, respectively. However, both of those starts were against the Diamondbacks, who have the fourth fewest strikeouts in the league.
This time, he’ll get the Pirates, who aren’t just in the bottom third of the league in that category but are also allowing 12.67 strikeouts per nine over their last three games. Steele got them for nine last month as well.
