Dinger Tuesday: 3 Home Run Picks for September 19th

Home Run Pick: Jorge Soler (+330)

The Miami Marlins are still hanging around in the playoff race, and a big part of that is due to slugger Jorge Soler. Soler has quietly mashed 36 home runs this season despite missing some time on the injured list.

The outfielder returned from the IL with a bang on Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a home run. He gets a nice matchup tonight against southpaw Joey Lucchesi.

Soler has been especially impressive against left-handed pitching with 14 home runs in 105 at-bats (one HR per 7.5 AB) as opposed to 22 home runs in 368 at-bats vs. RHP (one HR per 16.72 AB).

Home Run Prop: Austin Riley (+430)

We’re sticking with a right-handed batter against a left-handed starter here with Braves third baseman Austin Riley.

Riley has slowed down a bit power-wise, yet still has 36 home runs on the season. That includes four home runs in his last 12 games, one of which came against Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez.

Sanchez is on the mound again tonight, and Riley is +430 to go deep? Give me that all day long.

Home Run Player Prop: Cal Raleigh (+450)

Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is called “Big Dumper” for a reason. The switch-hitter has 28 home runs on the season and is poised to break out of a six-game homer drought tonight.

Raleigh is 2-for-7 against Athletics starter Paul Blackburn in his career. Both of those hits went for extra bases, with one leaving the yard.

The catcher does more damage vs. RHP (one HR per 15.8 AB) than vs. LHP (one HR per 20.75 AB), and the Athletics could go deep into their lackluster bullpen tonight.
