2023 Fortinet Championship Round 3 Underdog Picks
Brendon Todd 2.0 Bogeys or Worse: Lower
Like I stated earlier in the week, B Todd is one of the safest golfers on tour and will not give himself many chances to make bogeys. Through two rounds, he has made just three bogeys or worse.
Max Homa 12.0 Cumulative Par 3 Strokes: Lower
Underdog has this par three number at 12 for everyone. There is no reason not to take the best player in this field who will be playing with a chasers mentality to shoot one under on the par threes. I see the floor being exactly 12, and I think this is a very safe selection.
Cam Davis 69 Strokes: Lower
Cam Davis is eight under after two rounds and will have a chasers mentality this weekend as he is still a few back. This golf course sets up perfectly for Cam, and that has shown thus far. 69 is a number he should break with ease to stay in contention heading into Sunday.
Sahith Theegala 1.5 Bogeys or Worse: Higher
I will go back to this Sahith Theegala prop, and this time, we get the hook. Look, I would give a lot for Theegs to win this golf tournament, but the stats are not showing that.
Sahith is an extremely volatile golfer, and although he is leading this event, the volatility is showing. He is first and third in strokes gained around the green and putting while being slightly above average in the ball striking statistics. Although this is extremely on brand for the style of golf Sahith plays and can work on this golf course, it is not a sustainable way to play, and the bogeys are all but imminent.
