Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – September 2
Shohei Ohtani – Higher than 2.0 Hits + Runs + RBI
It’s been three straight games that Ohtani has gone over 2.0 HRR. He had one of each last night for a total of three, he had three the game before that and he had three hits alone in the game prior to that. Playing the Athletics, I already like his chances to do this against anyone they bring in from the bullpen, but he’s also had great success against the starter already. Ohtani has faced Paul Blackburn nine times in his career, he has four hits and a walk, and is slugging 1.000.
Luis Arraez – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
After flirting with .400 for most of the year, Arraez hit just .236 in August and his average plummeted. However, his power numbers have ticked up a little bit. He hit a couple of homers last month and kicked off this month with a two-hit game that included a double. It was his second two-hit game in a row.
Like Ohtani, he’s also had a lot of success against his Saturday foe. In 13 at-bats against Trevor Williams, Arraez has five hits including a double and a homer. Last month was really short on two-hit games, but this bodes well for another of those.
Blake Snell – Higher than 7.5 Strikeouts
Snell has two straight games going over this number and has in four of his last six. The Giants rank 27th in the MLB in strikeouts going down 9.41 times a game. Snell has also had the number of a couple of the Giants starters. Thairo Estrada has 14 at-bats against him and struck out nine times. Mike Yastrzemski has struck out four of the eight at-bats he has, and JD Davis has whiffed in five of the 13 he has.
