A solemn Dinger Tuesday to all who have celebrated. While the summer promotion has ended, we’re still going to be bringing you three home run picks every Tuesday via odds over at DraftKings Sportsbook.
As always, here are three value home run picks for Tuesday, August 29th!
DraftKings Dingers: 3 Home Run Picks for August 29th
HOU @ BOS: Kyle Tucker (+500)
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
We cashed our +450 ticket with Kyle Tucker homering last Tuesday against the Red Sox, and he’s once again priced way too high.
Tucker has eight home runs in his last 22 games (21 starts) to bring him up to 26 total on the season. He’s hit 15 of those against right-handed pitching, which is actually a pretty even split for a left-handed hitter.
Red Sox starter Bryan Bello has been solid this season, but he’s susceptible to the long ball. He’s allowed 17 home runs in total, including at least one home run in 12 of his 22 starts.
Basically, Tucker is still way underpriced at +500, and we need to take advantage.
SD @ STL: Gary Sanchez (+450)
Veteran catcher Gary Sanchez has bounced around a bit this season, but he’s found his power stroke in San Diego.
In 66 games, Sanchez has 18 home runs in 218 at-bats (one HR every 12.11 AB). He’s done damage against left-handed pitchers specifically, mashing eight homers in just 70 at-bats (one HR every 8.75 AB) against southpaws.
Cardinals starter Zack Thompson is, you guessed it, a left-handed pitcher. He’s allowed a home run in three straight starts as well.
I’ll happily take a crack at +450 for Sanchez, who has homered in two of his last four games.
OAK @ SEA: Julio Rodriguez (+350)
This line has come down a bit since opening in the +400s last night, but it’s still a bit too low.
Mariners slugger Julio Rodriguez is blazing hot. He entered August 4th batting .248. Since then, he’s gone 43-for-91 (.473) with seven home runs in 20 games to bring that up to .286. He’s also raised his OPS from .724 to .828.
Rodriguez has homered in three straight games and has a great chance to keep that going tonight against the Athletics.
Athletics left-handed starter Ken Waldichuk has allowed a combined five home runs in his last two outings against the Orioles and White Sox. J-Rod is a good bet to add to that total at +350.
