NFC East Betting Odds and Picks

NFC East Betting Odds and Picks

Football season is approaching, so it’s time for some NFC East division talk! The NFC East is easily the best division in the NFL, and you’ll never be able to convince me otherwise. Plus, the NFC East is best for creating fun rivalries between your friends; just look at SGPN’s Ryan Kramer (Ew. He likes the Giants) and Sean Green (Go Birds.)

The NFC East is one of the most challenging divisions in football. Still, the 2023 season looks to be shaping up to be the battle for second place between the Giants, Commanders, and the Cowboys. Big shock here; the Eagles fan is picking the Eagles to win the division. (He’s also picking the Eagles to win the Super Bowl.)

Let’s look at the four teams in the NFC East for the upcoming season. (Odds as of 7/21/2023, and as always, please bet responsibly.)

NFC East Betting Odds and Picks

Philadelphia Eagles

Win Total: 11.5
NFC East: -135
Conference Win: +250
Super Bowl Win: +650

Philadelphia Eagles Best Bets

Over 11.5 Wins (-105 Draftkings Sportsbook)

The Philadelphia Eagles won 14 games last season. The Philadelphia Eagles won a franchise-record 14 games last season. Can anyone honestly say the Eagles aren’t the same team, if not better than last season? I will keep screaming this from the mountains, THE DRAFTING OF JALEN CARTER AND NOLAN SMITH WILL MAKE THIS DEFENSE UNSTOPPABLE. I expect this to cash with ease.

To Win NFC East (-135), NFC Conference (+250), Super Bowl Win (+650) (DraftKings Sportsbook)

Book the Philadelphia Eagles’ revenge season for the upcoming season. The Eagles look to put last year’s Super Bowl in the past and shake, shake, shake it off. (Shout out to fellow Eagles fan T.Swift)

There’s nothing better that motivates a team than revenge. Mix that with an excellent offseason for the Eagles via the draft, trades, and signings, and you have the perfect combination for an Eagles back-to-back Super Bowl trip. Back-to-back Super Bowl trips are nice and all, but this year the Eagles get it done and lift the Lombardi.

New York Giants

Win Total: 7.5
NFC East: +850
Conference Win: +2500
Super Bowl Win: +6500

New York Giants Best Bets

Over 7.5 Wins (+100 DraftKings Sportsbook)

I don’t understand why people are not higher on the Giants this season. They played well in head coach Brian Daboll’s rookie season, going 9-7-1 and winning AP Coach of the Year. The Darren Waller signing was huge because it gave quarterback Daniel Jones a reliable target. Waller can potentially have 1000 receiving yards in his first season in the Big Apple. (Is it really the Big Apple if you play in New Jersey, though?)

Don’t forget the Giants also drafted CB Deonte Banks, C John Michael Schmitz, and WR Jalin Hyatt in the first three rounds of the 2023 draft. All three of them could make immediate impacts right away, especially Banks, who will provide the Giants’ defense with much-needed help.

The Giants look to have the team heading in the right direction, so having a win total less than their total wins from last season is borderline disrespectful. Count on Daboll to get it done in his second season in charge and cash the over.

NFC East Exact 1-2 Finishing Order Eagles/Giants (+650 DraftKings Sportsbook)

HOT TAKE ALERT! HOT TAKE ALERT! The Giants will finish second in the NFC East, while the Cowboys will finish last, with the Commanders in between at third. The Cowboys are easily one of the most overrated teams in football, and this year it will show. Prescott will lead the league in interceptions, and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore’s departure will negatively impact the Cowboys’ offense.

The point of mentioning how overrated the Cowboys are is to show that second place is up for grabs. Enter the Giants into the conversation. As mentioned above, I genuinely think people are sleeping on the Giants’ potential this upcoming season and the team’s upward trajectory under Brian Daboll. Keep sleeping on the Giants all you want, but remember this article when I tried to tell you they’d finish second in the NFC East. (and make the playoffs too)

Washington Commanders

Win Total: 6.5
NFC East: +1600
Conference Win: +4000
Super Bowl Win: +6500

Washington Commanders Best Bets

Under 6.5 Wins (-120 DraftKings Sportsbook)

This one was hard. I looked over the Commanders’ schedule twice and came up with six games that I would feel confident in the Commanders being able to win. Those six wins included splitting a win and loss with divisional rivals the Eagles, the Cowboys, and the Giants. The Eagles could win both games, so even having them at six wins is questionable.

On top of that, add on the growing pains, uncertainty, and adjustment that the Commanders and first-year starter QB Sam Howell will go through. Considering all that, under 6.5 wins looks to be the play here.

Dallas Cowboys

Win Total: 10.5
NFC East: +190
Conference Win: +600
Super Bowl Win: +1400

Dallas Cowboys Best Bets

Under 10.5 Wins (-135 Draftkings Sportsbook)

Let’s get this first part out of the way. I could be playing the under here simply because I’m an Eagles fan. As an Eagles fan, there is a direct correlation between the number of wins the Cowboys earn in a regular season and my happiness. The less the Cowboys win, the greater the happiness. Let’s be honest; doesn’t that apply to everyone, not just Eagles fans?

Don’t worry; there is some science behind this as well. In a previous article I wrote centering around NFL win total bets to play, I talked about the Cowboys as an underplay at 10.5 wins. From that article, “According to Action Network, besides the 2022 season, the Dallas Cowboys have hit the under in every season when projected to have a double-digit win season.”

The Cowboys are yet again projected to have a double-digit win season, so look for the Cowboys to do what they do best and underdeliver.

(Also, sprinkle a little on Dak Prescott over 12.5 interceptions +110 on DraftKings Sportsbook and Most Regular Season Interceptions Thrown 2023-2024 Dak Prescott +1000 on FanDuel.)
