Happy Sunday, baseball fans! We have another great slate of baseball on tap with games on all day long.
This Sunday, we’re deciding to get some alliteration going with some Sunday strikeouts. We’ll be taking a look at three pitcher’s strikeout player prop picks to target for Sunday, July 30th.
MLB Player Props – Sunday Strikeouts: Three Pitchers To Target
DET @ MIA (1:40 p.m. ET) – Jesus Luzardo over 7.5 strikeouts (-112)
Luzardo has been one of the many reasons for the Marlins’ surprising success this season. The left-handed hurler has 144 strikeouts in 120 1/3 innings across 21 starts.
The southpaw has been an absolute menace on the mound recently. He’s coming off a 13-strikeout game against the Rockies and now has 50 strikeouts in his last six starts (36 2/3 innings).
Luzardo has gone over 7.5 strikeouts nine times — including in six of his last seven starts. He’s also hit the nine-strikeout mark in four of those last six starts, so a one-run ladder at over 8.5 strikeouts (+168).
SEA @ ARI (4:10 p.m. ET) – Luis Castillo over 5.5 strikeouts (-118)
Speaking of menaces on the mound, we get to Luis Castillo.
The Mariners ace has 142 strikeouts in 21 starts this season (125 1/3 innings) but he’s really turned it up in the last two. Castillo struck out 20 Twins over his last two starts (11 in 6 IP; 9 in 7 IP).
The Diamondbacks are one of the harder teams in the league to strike out, but Castillo has at least six strikeouts in nearly three-quarters (15 of 21) of his starts this season.
I don’t hate going for the ladder up to 10 or 11 here given his last two starts and high-upside. He’s struck out nine batters in 5 of his 21 starts (implied odds around +320). We’re getting over 8.5 strikeouts at +680.
NYY @ BAL (7:10 p.m. ET) – Dean Kremer over 4.5 strikeouts (-138)
Sunday Night Baseball is at Camden Yards for the first time in years. There’s a special feeling in the air surrounding Oriole Park and Big Game Krem is going to be ready for it.
Kremer has made two starts against the Yankees so far this season. He struck out four in five innings back in his second start of the season on April 7th. Then, on a much warmer July day, he struck out 10 Yankees across seven innings.
He followed that up with an eight-strikeout performance at home against Miami. He’s had two duds — at least strikeout-wise — in his last two starts, but the upside is here for Kremer.
This is an ideal ladder play. He’s shown the ability to rack up the strikeouts against the Yankees, and it’s worth a shot again — even if Aaron Judge is back hitting bombs. Kremer is one of the better pitchers to target for strikeout props on July 30.
Kremer:
- 6+ Strikeouts +162
- 7+ Strikeouts +340
- 8+ Strikeouts +680
- 9+ Strikeouts +1300
