The fantasy baseball season continues with another week ahead. Finally, after the All-Star break threw some things out of order, we have a normal week from Monday to Sunday. Streaming starting pitchers is incredibly important.
Here are three two-start pitchers that are widely available that should help you win your matchup this week.
Fantasy Baseball Streaming: Three two-start pitchers available in 50%+ of leagues (July 24th)
Kenta Maeda (MIN) – Monday vs. SEA, Sunday @ KC (48% Rostered)
Kenta Maeda, still being available in over half of all Yahoo! leagues, is borderline criminal. The veteran righty had one horrific start in April (3 IP, 10 ER) that absolutely killed his ERA. Wildly enough, he missed nearly two months after that due to an injury.
Since returning, Maeda has made five starts. He’s 2-1 in that span (the Twins are 4-1) with a 2.73 ERA (8 ER in 26.1 IP), striking out 36 to just nine walks.
Maeda just struck out nine across 6 1/3 three-hit innings (two runs) against the Mariners last week. He’ll look to build on that again on Monday against those same Mariners and then later in the week against a lowly Royals squad.
Dean Kremer (BAL) – Monday @ PHI, Sunday vs. NYY (43% Rostered)
Dean “Don’t call me Cosmo” Kremer is having a much better season than his 4.80 ERA suggests for the first-place Orioles.
Kremer started off poorly with 22 ER in his first six starts (29.2 IP; 6.67 ERA). Since then, however, the righty is 8-3 with a 4.10 ERA (36 ER in 79 IP across 14 starts). He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in 11 of those 14 starts, but in the other three, he allowed six, seven, and five.
Neither of these starts is the easiest of matchups for Kremer, although the Yankees are struggling without Aaron Judge. Nevertheless, given some of the other options out there, Kremer is worth a look.
Graham Ashcraft (CIN) – Monday @ MIL, Sunday @ LAD (17% Rostered)
Reds pitchers are hard to stream, but road matchups make it a bit easier. Graham Ashcraft’s four consecutive quality starts make it easier as well.
Ashcraft carries a 5.77 ERA on the season, but he’s been stellar in his last four starts. He’s 2-1 with a 1.82 ERA (5 ER in 24.2 IP) in those starts against the Padres, Nationals, Brewers, and Giants.
