The guys (@GamblingPodcast) give out all their British Open predictions with the help from the hosts of the Golf Gambling Podcast. Sean and Ryan are joined by Boston Capper (@Boston_Capper) and Matt Gannon (@Matt_Gannon) to give out all of their British Open best bets and British Open dfs picks.
0:00 Intro
Boston Capper and Matt Gannon join to discuss the British Open coming up this weekend. The world of golf is expanding as there is much more youth participation, as shown through Matt’s involvement.
11:19 Rory McIlroy’s Mojo
Rory just won last week in the Scottish Open which for most guys would be good, but not for him. Rory tends to do worse when he has more hype around him and you can basically chalk up a disappointing weekend from him.
14:12 Cam Smith
On paper this is not the course for Cam Smith but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a great golfer all around. This weekend probably won’t be his best though, and he will still be fairly pricey in DFS.
18:11 British Open Gambling Trends
Trends are tough for tournaments, but complete driving can be something to pay attention to. Guys who can really blast their driver usually fare better if they are hitting it straight.

20:45 Brooks Koepka, Viktor Hovland, Rickie Fowler, Tommy Fleetwood
Brooksy lives for majors and hasn’t finished worse than 12th all year. Hovland is 1st in approach shot proximity in the last 50 rounds. Ownership on Fowler won’t be too high even though his price is at 9800, probably because his hype hails from his aura and not really his play. Fleetwood has a hometown narrative going this week and should be checking all the boxes for a good round, but he usually flops in these situations.
32:50 Dustin Johnson, Tom Kim, See Woo Kim, Talor Gooch
Dustin Johnson is surprisingly a contrarian play this week despite him trending higher as of late. Tom Kim was top 10 in the US Open and has a price of 8100. One issue is that Kim isn’t very accurate, but he does have a strong putting game. See Woo Kim is a great ball striker and has some strong resiliency. According to Matt’s grading, See Woo Kim is 10th in the field. If you value LIV golf, metrics have Taylor Gooch as a top 5 player in the world. For his price, Gooch is more than worth it.
41:39 Pádraig Harrington, Sahith Theegala, Matthew Jordan
In the old guy tour, Harrington is playing great golf this year as he hasn’t missed a cut since January. Theegala had made the cut 22 out of 24 times this year and is quite creative with his irons. His driver is really wild which can mean trouble but when he’s on he gets on fire. Matthew Jordan is a member of the course this weekend and tees off first, he should be able to string together some good golf.
