2023 Barbasol Championship DFS: Best Plays in Each Price Range

Personally, I love events like these, and there is money to be made in fields like this. The eyes will be on the Scottish Open, but we will take a look at one of the PGA Tour’s purest birdie fests. We will see names on the leaderboard and laugh. We will see European golfers, as this is a co-sanctioned event with the DP World Tour. At the end of the day, you need to be able to make a ton of birdies to succeed in this event. Here are my 2023 Barbasol Championship DFS plays with my Best Plays in Each Price Range!

2023 Barbosal Championship DFS: Best Plays in Each Price Range

2023 Barbosal Championship DFS – $9,000+

Vincent Norrman $9,800

Vincent Norrman is here to win. He had a chance to play in the Scottish Open but opted out in order to play the Barbasol. Norrman is a rookie with some high upside. The last time we played him was his T8 finish at TPC Craig Ranch. A little about his game, Norrman is an above-average ball striker who struggles on the putting surface, my kind of guy! I am not sure he has the putting prowess to win this event, but he can surely finish inside the top five with the ball striking alone.

Justin Lower $9,300

Justin Lower was on my betting card for the John Deere Classic, but sadly he withdrew because of a positive covid test. Seems like he is good to go for the Barbasol, and he looks like a great fit. You need to be able to take it low at events like these, and Lower can surely do that.

It’s legitimately in his name. The way to go about this is A. gain strokes to the field on approach, and B. gain strokes on the field putting. Lower just recently gained 4.3 strokes on approach at the Travelers Championship and gained over seven strokes, putting twice in his last three starts! That is exceptional putting, and it will be a requirement this week.

2023 Barbosal Championship DFS – Mid Range

Tyler Duncan $7,500

Tyler Duncan was playing really solid golf in February and March and then missed five straight cuts. He is back to making cuts as he played the weekend at both the Rocket and the John Deere. The last time Duncan played in a field this week was the Corales Puntacana Championship, where he finished in third place and was in contention all week. Duncan is a PGA Tour winner and should be very comfortable out here.

Kevin Roy $7,000

Kevin Roy has been a golfer who has been popping all over models the last few weeks. That is because when he plays well, he gains a ton of strokes on approach. That is surely a prerequisite to succeed at a golf course like this, and Roy is a golfer who should be able to do that.

2023 Barbosal Championship DFS – 6K Range

Jason Scrivener $6,900

This is truly one of the worst 6K ranges we have of the year, so finding a player to succeed is more of a dart throw than anything, but we will take a look at the numbers. Jason Scrivener is an Australian vet who is not new to playing stateside.

When I ran my modeling for the week, Scrivener rated out as the 8th best player in this field as he can make birdies in bunches. We will take that and run with it, and hopefully, he can find his way inside the top 20 this weekend at the 2023 Barbosal Championship.
