Fantasy Football Top 10 TEs
The guys (@GamblingPodcast) announce their fantasy football top 10 TEs for 2023. Ryan and Sean list of their best fantasy football TEs including spicy takes on Dallas Goedert, Darren Waller and David Njoku.
(4:32) Kelce, Waller, Goedert Andrews, Hockenson, CHIG, George Kittle, Taysom Hill
Travis Kelce beat the next tight end by 100 fantasy points last season. The consistency is very high and he is the biggest mouth to feed on possibly the greatest offensive scheme in the league. Darren Waller is in a new spot in New York and reports show that he will not be used as just a tight end. He will be a big target for Daniel Jones and can easily command a 27% target share. Goedert had a number of double-digit scoring games and is in an electric Eagles’ offense where he should continue to get the same number of targets. Andrews is an elite talent at tight end but Isaiah Likely proved he deserves reps as well. If Andrews continues to get double the reps of Likely and stays healthy, he will be a safe play.
CHIG should have a huge jump in production with no Austin Hooper in the offense and a lack of other viable receiving options. TJ Hockenson was commanding a very healthy number of targets towards the end of the season in Minnesota. If he turns into a true checkdown option for Kirk Cousins and he cleans up in the red zone, he could be incredible. Taysom Hill has had great reports out of OTA’s in the mix of rushing and receiving, especially around the endzone. Kittle is really a boom or bust guy but his booms are massive enough to make him number 2 in points per game for tight ends last year.
(25:26) David Njoku, Pat Freiermuth, Tyler Higbee, Dalton Schultz, Luke Musgrave
Njoku was third in red zone targets last year for tight ends. This is a small bet on Deshaun Watson but Njoku has proven to be a reliable tight end. Freiermuth is an offense that should take a step forward and he is the number one target. He also should see an increase of touchdowns after only having two last year. Higbee will be in an offense that will probably be coming from behind a lot with a quarterback that if healthy can still make some noise. Higbee also was averaging over 9 targets per game last year.
Dalton Schultz could also very well be the number one option for the Texans and their rookie quarterback CJ Stroud. Luke Musgrave is also stepping into an easy checkdown role for Jordan Love and a offense that lost 100 targets in Allen Lazard. Both of these guys could be high point getters simply from their role and state of their teams.
