Fantasy Football Top 10 Quarterbacks

The guys (@GamblingPodcast) reveal their fantasy football top 10 quarterbacks for 2023. Sean and Ryan list of their best fantasy football QBs plus hot takes on Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson and Josh Allen.

(4:00) Hurts, Mahomes, Fields, Allen, Jackson, Burrow

Jalen Hurts has improved every single year in the NFL and the loss of Miles Sanders could be positive for Hurts’ rushing. He has a high floor regardless and will bring immense consistency, as long as he does not get injured.

Mahomes had zero games under 15 points in fantasy, talk about reliable. His physical tools and offensive scheme allow him to always put up numbers and he has no reason to slow down. Justin Fields exploded for a couple 40 point games and has the legs to run all around defenses. The Bears seem to be trending in the right direction and Fields can really catapult himself into a high quarterback tier this season.

Josh Allen had at least 19 points 14 out of 17 times, with one of these being the Bengals game that was cut short. The departure of Brian Daboll last season seemed to show on Allen’s decision making and overall performance and there is also a belief that Sean McDermott could limit his goal line carries.

Lamar Jackson can really bounce back this season after getting paid the big bucks. He now has some offensive weapons and will always be a threat on the ground. But, if he cannot stay healthy and cannot adjust to his new offense well he could be a dud. His division rival Joe Burrow has started a little slow in other seasons but he was recovering from injuries. Burrow has some sneaky running capability with 5 rushing touchdowns last year and was only under 15 points three times with one game being cut short.

(26:51) Goff, Herbert, Cousins, Jones, Tua, Richardson, Pickett

Jared Goff has a perfect situation to put up points. They have an electric and young set of skill players and a suspect defense that can force some shootouts. Herbert had no 30-point games and only 6 games of 19 points. His ceiling is high but there are plenty of question marks in the offense and he showed regression in his stats over the past two years. Cousins benefits from a great receiving core and playing in a dome so he should always be able to put up numbers.

Daniel Jones uses his legs well and he finished 9th in average points per game. He did this while learning a new offense and having an abysmal receiving core, which they upgraded extensively. Tua has insane upside due to the weapons he has and finished high in total points despite suffering concussions.

Anthony Richardson can benefit from pure athleticism and a coach with great play calling. Richardson still has plenty of questions to answer considering how bad he had played last year. Pickett has a good core of weapons around him and he showed some flashes of greatness last year.
